Morning, dry but cold here today and a glimmer of sunshine to cheer us up! I'm meeting DD1 and the baby this morning to go to the library for a 'bounce and play' session then going to the kitchen showroom to get her take on some of the 'inside cupboard' gadgets that I think will be useful. After that I'll drop back into the city for some odds and ends I need and then home on the bus mid afternoon. Nice to think my extra cover sessions in the charity shop have ended and I shall have Mondays back to do things that I need to do. I did 4 sessions last week, 2 mornings and 2 afternoons and it fragmented the week more than I was happy with.
Have a good day everyone xxx.

I had to laugh at my comparison to Postman Pat HAPPCAS!! I have always compared myself more like Peppa Pig at the top of that steep hill with all those muddy puddles to jump in!
The early snowfall came to naught thankfully and then turned to sleet. Then we actually saw some blue sky! Sadly it didn't last and it's now looking decidedly grey. with wintry showers forecast on and off all day. It'll be the Nanook of the North look again when I head for the bus into town.
Stay safe folks x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Good morning folks.Sounds grim round the country, it's not so bad here. The promised / threatened snow didn't arrive yesterday. I'm expecting a parcel from my cousin in Berlin which I'd hoped would arrive yesterday, it didn't ☹️ I really want to go out today though I'd probably miss delivery which would be so annoying. There's so much stuff to go to the tip and CS.After another bout of 'tension' last week between DM and myself (I'm really not 'staff') things are cool, the upside is that it's also calm.I hope that all is well with others, here's a wish for a happy Tuesday.15

Morning all
Bright sunshine here for once although rain due after lunch again will get the pup out for her run before the rain comes. I have a wash on the go and another one to go in after so will try to hang it out for a while.
Chilli and rice for dinner tonight will make a nice hot one. I also need to hoover and sweep through and have a general tidy, I want to sort the fridge and freezer out too.
I am still bleeding really heavily I am going to leave it till Thursday and phone the Dr if its still happening, I have also had a craving for cornflakes which we never eat so im wondering if I am low on iron ?
Gers I am sorry to hear there is tension again, you do such a lot for your mum. what ever happened about the respite ? it would do you good to have a break and maybe make mum appreciate what you do ! xx
Have good days all xx16 -
Good news Dumpling at least your legs are not infected. Nelski also positive news for you too, OH had a stroke some years ago, affected his left side, but cleared his left hand is a little weak but thats all. I was cross because he was on Warfarin and not supposed to get blood clots!!
At the Drs with him yesterday, I had noticed that his short term memory loss was getting worse, he has been referred to the Memory clinic. This has saddened me a great deal.
Supper tonight chicken and rice with the last of the rasp jelly for dessert.16 -
Morning all from Mehefinland
I haven't left..honest! I find with my deteriorating eyesight that the forums aren't so easy to read, although I have been skimming them as best I can.
Fields are waterlogged and I could do a good impression of the Flanders and Swan Mud song. It just isn't that glorious when its cold and wet and incessant. Never mind, the daffs are showing their noses so spring is not too far away. To think this time last year we were having a mini heatwave and the year before was the build up to the '.beast from the east'
Nanny - glad you haven't been washes down the hill. Must be devastating for those flooded out.
Nelski - that's my kind of recycling. Have you had to send out for emergency supplies of Soreen yet?
DS and theToxic Troll are supposed to be coming for the weekend for Mrs M's burpday. We will see.
Hugs and spoons to those in need
Right lets go see the hippopotamuses (aka the mares)

Hello allThe weather is dire here, wet and windy again ! I wish that Ark would hurry up and arrive, my feet are becoming webbedI didn't get round to sorting the avalanche of caravan stuff yesterday as we decided to tackle the shed of doom instead. 2 hours later, 3 bags of rubbish, lots of recycling stuff, sawdust and cobwebs ( shudder ) and I was shattered. So today my task is the avalanche, but Mr Fix It has resumed his shed decluttering and has been waving his hand brush at me through the shed window. Probably he wants a coffee, but he can come down and get one himself, I had enough of getting wet yesterdayI don't know what to have for tea tonight but yesterday I had a jacket potato with salad ( polishes halo ) as I have an early appointment with nurse Dracula tomorrow. It's a fasting one so it's spurred me on to be good, at least for today
.
Nelski you're not thinking of replacing James are you ? Not with a terrorist please, think of all the lovely food you would miss ! Well done, keep on going now.Csarina I'm sorry that you DH has more memory loss. It must be very scary for both of you, hugs.RedRuby Cravings ? you're not, are you ? Will we hear the patter of tiny feet soon ? Only joking. Hope you can get your problem sorted soon. I have been there and it's horrible, day after day, week after week. totally draining. Many hugs for you.Sorry there were a few more people I wanted to reply to, but I've already forgotten, so my sincere apologies.Right I'm off to sort that blummin avalanche. If I'm not here for the rest of the week please send out the Jack Russell with a barrel of tea around his neckTake care all, especially if you are going out and about.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently14 -
Morning!! Raining here....It's that time of year again when I don't want to go out at all, just want to snuggle in the house and do nothing, however, I will be going to the blue and yellow box for an outing with Mil tomorrow. We get on very well [ as long as you don't talk politics] so doing OK there. Am going to make a chicken casserole today with chicken breasts from the freezer to be all weight watchy and stuff. An extra handful of thyme, rosemary and a bit of bay makes it realy tasty, and probably a bit of Maggi in it to [ I love lovage, I want to put some in the garden but without a plan it's difficult to know where to put it because it grows to over six foot each season and clumps up after a while. I don't want to put it somewhere only to have to take it back out again...- sorry, that seemed like a tangent so I should have pointed out -unless you already knew- Maggi sauce in the little bottle with a yellow top has lovage in it]. I suppose I could put it in the front garden to give the neighbour something to look at...I'm going to have breakfast in a minute, and then, I think I have to go to docs for tablets. Left mine in Wales a few weeks ago, had enough for another week, but the repeat wouldn't have been filled so I've done without for a few days. Sleeping a lot less, but having more palpitations so back on them I go...No idea if it makes any difference though.Got another refusal from another architect [ outside cachement area they said] so I have e-mailed another one...Maybe I need to sound more dynamic in e-mails, I don't know, but there's only so many ways you can say I want an extension and I don't want it to look boring, please give me a something that'll look nice.Nelski, you are a titan of toughness! You batter that leg into submission! What a lot of good news though, you go girl! Dumpling, I hope you can continue on your path to wellness
don't want you in hsopital again! nanny, sorry it's raining in Wales [?!] , stay in, let Mr Fixit bear the brunt..or ask him to set up a sideways dumb waiter so he can get his coffee in style...Gers, yep, you are most certainly not staff, you are a bloody good daughter who's trying her best to look after someone who is obviously frustrated but you still don't deserve the brunt. Do you think she'd benefit from a counselling/therapy/rant session with someone? The trouble is finding someone who will fit with her...I know I didn't talk much to my father about the inevitable, except to say I knew what a !!!!!! time he was having. RR, hang in there...yep, one good thing from my treatment was no more periods...I love it! Hope you're successful in finding something that works. I used to take the 400mg ibuprofen, I found it made them slightly lighter...TA, what a bunch of great neighbours you have! Hey all reading along, Tumultuous Tuesday!

She's always been critical and demanding but really has to understand the effects of her words on others. I understand her fears and feelings, she realises how bad her outlook is, she's deaf and feels isolated, however, she sees her friends more than I see mine and is being looked after. Every meal is brought to her bed from which she only moves to go to the bathroom (number 2s) and the living room for visitors.Hey ho... I had a good Saturday night!I've been out to the tip and shop. Seems that there are many folks doing mega-decluttering apart from me, so more power to your elbow! It's a real effort though so worthwhile!I've also washed down the outside railings up the steps and the inside bannister. The builders doing the dry rot repairs in the first two flats aren't very aware of the mess. I just did a surface wipe so that it's not dirty to hold on, there will be more when the work starts on DM's flat and the one downstairs. Blokes said that may be at the end of this week or start o next. That's the next stress. Now I need to serve lunch.
