It's a really good atmosphere when you get there - our 3rd date was Sale v Goucester - Jason Robinson was about 5yards in front of me when warming up....phwoooaar! We now have season tickets (DF buys them for our anniversary pressies!) so travel from Blackpool to stockport every other Friday night - and it's flipping cold in the winter!

Barbarians v South Africa on TV this weekend, Bath are on Sky next Friday, and Sale v Leicester on 23 December - the joy of tv rugby is wine / beer on tap and there's no queue for the Ladies at half time!

I've seen a queue at the club and nearly died... Problem is when they are in really need the boys will use the ladies  None of us are brave enough to use the gents.... very scary place!

I found £10 earlier today (at home, totally forgot it was in my tin) - bonus!

I have just switched gas and electric - saved £110 - gained £25 M & S vouchers and crate of wine - bigger bonus

And been invited round to my friends for a girlie night in, she's supplying all the food and drink!! Wahey

I have spent the absolute sum of nothing.

I'm feeling irritated today. We're owed so much money, I mean a stupid amount but I can't get anyone to pay us. Neither hubby or I have been paid since August, the bloody record company are tight @rses they really are, even down to stupid things like we had no laminates on the last tour because they were too expensive... ummm £8

They always do pay us, but it's chase chase chase, then we get a big cheque in one go, which is lovely but awful for budgetting. Now I'm at the point of taking more and more money out of savings to cover bills and rent.

Hmm...it always worries me when you say stuff like that. You - and indeed all of the self-employed people - need to sit down and do a risk assessment on your accounts. Ask the question of every debtor: "What would happen to us if these went bust and didn't pay us?" On the very brightest side, there is a recession imminent, and companies go bust during recessions.

If them going bust would be the end of you - then it might be time to take steps to reduce that risk.

Never think "that could never happen to them" - who would have thought it could happen to a high-street bank?

The feeling lasted until lunch and was stolen from me when confronted with the idiocy of management (they need a job doing, I am able to do the job but I don't have computer clearance to do it. 10 minutes later and I'm explaining to the muppet from IT what he should be looking at      )!

Well a few weeks ago I was dragged kicking and screaming off one job onto another - because the new was a high priority and what I had decided was important obviously wasn't. Today, I was told I had to do the previous job and it was so much more important than the job I was put on to, because what it was meant to prevent had happened and people were screaming about it.

Alas, I'm off for the next week. Boo hoo.

A simple effective way is letter one, nice and polite, letter two, still polite but firm. Letter three threatens legal action and letter four - does not exist. Legal action it is. MCOL is gods gift to the self employed.
