Yeah, that's what I was doing, I hit enable card reader and went through all the steps. I have an RBS account I opened years ago and that worked fine enabling the reader. I checked and double checked that I was pressing the right buttons and entering the correct numbers but to no avail.

I don't understand why any bank still relies on card readers when the pin code system that the likes of first direct and barclays are now using is far easier. Even my clunky old M&S account is now using pin codes. Card readers are way too much aggrevation.0
