This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Good morning everyone
I have been awake for hours as my leg decided to leak and I woke up in a puddle...yuck. I am going to ring the district nurses once the office is open and ask them to pop in and check it for me. I also have a dodgy dark red patch on my foot so that needs to be peered at too I think. Oh well, my legs haven't dropped off yet so I will try to stay positive.
I am going to ask Steve to sort the fridge out this morning as there is stuff festering away where I cannot reach and I want to get it cleaned and tidied up. I am not doing any shopping until we have cleared up and eaten what we have in as there is a lot of waste going on which is not money saving at all. Steve found an elderly piece of pork fillet in the freezer so we are going to have that with some egg fried rice and roasted veg. I am going to go back to using smaller plates as my portion sizes have crept up again.
I am not expecting any visitors today so will settle down to sew up my elephant I knitted yesterday. I also have to make a load of unicorns and rabbits for my nieces and nephews for Easter. I ordered a new pattern and yarn to make some baby dragons so hopefully that will come today or tomorrow. The yarn is really sparkly which totally satisfies my inner magpie and I love making dragons so I am really looking forward to starting this project.
The wind is howling around the house but Phoebe has just got up for work and made me a lovely cup of tea as well as feeding the dogs and cat their breakfasts. I am going to go and watch some tv while I wait for the rest of the house to get up. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Morning everyone
dumpling - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now getting light, but blustery and air feels cold.
Lunch yesterday was well into the afternoon as we had some things to do, but we had pie, chips and beans - at DH's request. Not sure what we'll be having for dinner tonight - I have several different things in the freezer,
Back to work today - we'll see how the day goes.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks and thanks DUMPLING. I hope you manage to get hold of a DN to come and look at your legs.
Well they forecast heavy snow and that's what we have got. It's lovely to look out at but not so lovely when you have to try and get to work and school through it. At the moment nothing is going up and down the road down in to town and no sign of the snow plough or gritters. It's supposed to turn to heavy rain later so they are probably waiting for that to clear the roads for them! Eldest DGD starts her mocks today so she will be in a panic as it is without worrying if she is going to even get there to do them! I keep getting frantic texts off DD as she has to get to work soon. Blooming weather doing it's worst as usual.
Fortunately no plans for me needing to get out in it so the usual jobs await. No cooking either as lots of leftovers from yesterday just to warm up with some of the tasty gammon.
Have a good day folks and ()HUGS)) for all who need them. TAFF that's a worry for you about your relatives. Italy seems to be doing all it can to confine the virus but it sounds to be getting worse worldwide now.I hope they stay safe. Take care all xx

Morning All
Hope you get your legs sorted dumpling, the dragons sound great.
No snow here yet, thought I would have a white wake up, it is raining though. We saw some lovely patches of sunshine yesterday in between the sleet and hail!
I cleared and cleaned the cupboard of doom, 2 bin bags of rubbish and a bag for the charity shop, I bought a trolley for the DGC's art and craft stuff so at least that's all together. Found a string of onions in there, will give them to DD as she uses a lot, that's the last of them, they have lasted really well.
Have a happy Monday, stay safe in the rather rotten weather, take care. XX15 -
Good morning, and thanks Dumpling for starting - hope someone comes and has a look at your legs. There's snow here as well, but as our little town is quite sheltered there's only a thin layer, and rain is forecast. This month has been terrible for weather. We are going to our hairdresser's this morning, and Dgd will be coming after school. It's my birthday, and we might go to out for lunch, just locally, We don't make much of birthdays these days and it's not a "milestone"Had an ok weekend, ds and family called in yesterday bearing gifts and cards.Hope everyone has a good Monday - take care folks.16

Dolly walked and fed and i have a cuppa . Didn't do much at the weekend except get rid of a chair from the conservatory and picked up a lamp for DD2from selling pages. I am taking the boy child to the airport later as he is off to visit friends he made when he was in Oz . No snow for us just rain I did remark to DH I remember now why we go away every February but obviously with the wedding that hasn't happened . I cancelled the dress maker and ordered 6 dresses from the internet 4 are being returned today I will then just need to decide and get the accessories . Dinner tonight is salad as i fancy some crunch winter food is always so soft and i fancy a change.

Morning. It’s very wet outside today. I am working today. I didn’t get to see my brother yesterday as the road was flooded on the way to the hospital and I don’t know any other way to get there. I rang he is feeling better. I can’t go now TIL Tuesday so hopefully he will be home soon.
Not sure what for tea tea will have a look in the fridge after this I am up to day with the washing in needs putting a way. Which is a job a hate. Will do it when I get back14 -
Morning
No snow here just persistent rain. no chance of a outdoor practice at this rate but then I guess snow would be worse. Up early as usual during the week so washing on and 2 lots put away. I have my new terrorist coming today so hoping to be put through my paces.
Yesterday my lazy day got boring so I did a huge declutter of all my work stuff .... You would not believe how many flip chart pens and ordinary pens i found in lots of different tins, boxes, tupperware (I wondered where they had gone I kept blaming mum for for keeping them) and carrier bags ....If i started writing now and continued for 24 hrs every day for the rest of my life I could not use up half of them. Lots of orange and yellow ones too....who the heck uses a yellow pen on a flip chart? Anyway I kept a load that I liked then filled a huge bag with the rest along with a few thousand post it pads and a few hundred biros....we have a local site on facebook for swapping stuff so I offered the pen bag and some flip chart paper in return for a bottle of wine (don't need any more clutter that's for sure) and it was gone in minutes...Lady coming to collect later.
Food wise I had a ham roast with leeks mushrooms and onions yesterday and made 3 bags of roast pots for the freezer. Today is a new one for me... its a filo parcel with haddock and prawn filling and a cheese sauce. Sounds lush but dreading how my clunky hands will cope with filo....sure it wont look like the picture for sure !! Watch this space for the new stroke cookbook
Have a lovely day all and keep warm

Morning everyone, oh my goodness I think I'm growing webbed feet. Lashing rain here this morning.
I still didn't get round to sorting those bits out so still have that to do I'm off to meet a friend this afternoon for a cuppa at Mr M' s so will pick up some fruit while I'm there. Going to start doing my Kundalini yoga again. I am not really the stature for yoga but I do enjoy what I can do. Not much else planned, the usual tidy up, budgeting and meal planning for the coming weeks.
Hugs for all those that need them.
Have a good one.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh13
