It's been a while since First Direct upped their regular saver rate to 7% (November 2022 if my memory serves me well). I wonder if they could be about to do something intriguing in the near future.
Your analogy is lousy, and your hilarity has no justification.8 -
Hi Folks,
I have updated page 1 of this thread.
- Kroo Current Account (feeder account section) interest rate increased to 4.10% AER (4.03% gross) variable on up to £85,000 from 1st July 2023
- Nationwide FlexDirect Account (feeder account section) updated to show it is paying 5% fixed for 12 months (unchanged) on £1,500 (and then 1% interest, increased from 0.25%) from 1st July 2023.
- Chase Saver Account (feeder account section) updated to show that the planned increase to 3.3% AER (3.25% gross) variable went ahead on 22nd May 2023
- West Brom Children's Fixed Rate Regular Saver (Issue 6) added to page 1 paying 5.5% gross p.a. fixed on up to £100 per month for 12 months, no withdrawals or early closure allowed, aged 15 and under, can only be opened in branch
- West Brom BS Adult's Fixed Rate Regular Saver (Issue 6) added to page 1 paying 5% gross p.a. fixed on up to £250 per month for 12 months, no withdrawals or early closure allowed, aged 16 and over, can only be opened in branch
I have noted that the Earl Shilton BS regular saver has increased its interest rate to 4.10% from 1st July however I am not going to spend time adding it back on to page 1 as it will get removed again when I change the threshold for inclusion on page 1 in July following the latest base rate increase. The same applies to the Suffolk BS 1 Year Regular Saver (31.08.24) paying 4.15%.I will do the next update the weekend after next.

Update on Natwest Round ups: Don't. Some people have got away with it but it is a gamble. I got the 'we are ending our banking relationship' letter just like the infamous LBG letter. I was only doing like 5 created round ups per week. I knew if I did too many they could do something but I am really surprised just how few they considered too many. I was also using it for legitimate spending as much if not more than created round ups. Maybe they saw the £2.25 payment to Eon and thought something is clearly wrong here.9
