Have been Principality customer in the past but details not recognised so applied for the new regular saver in hop / on spec. Have got user ID and account number and system says I have registered but cannot log in. Will wait and see0

When I applied for a new Principality account last year after having previously closed my only account with them I had to wait for an activation key to arrive in the post before I could view my accounts online so I wouldn't worry about it too much.Malchester said:Have been Principality customer in the past but details not recognised so applied for the new regular saver in hop / on spec. Having said that it may be worth hanging fire with applying for the new regular saver issue 33 though. There seems to be an issue with receiving funds into it, which doesn't surprise me too much given that the account has yet to be launched. I sent some money to it around 5 hours ago and nothing is showing in online banking yet. I've checked the account details multiple times and they are correct. I've just attempted to make a £1 transfer from my FHS regular saver to the regular saver issue 33 account as a test and I got this message:
Hopefully it will resolve itself in over the coming days when they actually launch the account but I fear things could get quite eventful.3 -
It would be a lot easier if you were more patient and waited for the account to be live and you would also have the benefit of knowing the interest rate before you started trying to fund it.Bridlington1 said:

I would agree, I really could do with learning some more patience! I think this episode was more a combination of curiosity mixed with my own stupidity more than anything else though.Stargunner said:

I haven't tried to send funds anc wouldn't do until it was fully opened and I know the interest rate even though I have sort code and account number and reference for the account. Just tried to open the account out of interest and for devilment.Bridlington1 said:

Any idea when the account goes live?1 -
This is one of the reasons I opened the account this afternoon. Whenever it's appeared on moneyfacts shortly after midnight the link has always been available and working so I wanted to see exactly how far in advance the link would appear. With hindsight I should have just noted that a new regular saver will be launched soon and just left it at that, this would have answered that question for me without the risk of annoying Principality BS. But there's little I can do about that now.Malchester said:

So I don't know is the honest answer.
If I were to hazard a guess I would guess it will appear on moneyfacts either shortly after midnight tonight but more likely shortly after midnight on Monday or Tuesday morning since I can't recall them ever launching a new regular saver on a non working day, with the account officially becoming live later that morning but it could be anytime really.0 -
KYC requirements may be met, but this would be a non-compliant sale because Principality haven't provided relevant disclosures (specifically the interest rate and illustrations). They could decide to rectify this by closing the account and returning your deposit.wiseonesomeofthetime said:
Like Bridlington1, Principality already have my details, so regulatory requirement already met.someone said:Growingold said:How can they open an account though if it has not yet been launched let alone you have actually funded it?
I would be a little cautious of this route, if you haven't provided the relevant details then they will have failed to meet the regulators requirements. It may appear a minor transgression but either the sale of a product is compliant or not.
Might be different if trying to apply as a new customer.5 -
Opened with 2 or 3 clicks, the quickest account opening in my memory. It's a bit weird to open an account without knowing the rate and terms&conditions, but it shouldn't do any harm. I won't fund it until I know what I'm funding. Received confirmation e-mail:Malchester said:

So, what next?
Step 1: Put money into your new savings account
You’ll need to look at the terms and conditions of your savings account to check:
• the most and least you can to put into your account;
• when you should put it in by, usually within 5 days of opening your account; and
• how you can make your first payment.

Hi Everybody,
I have updated page 1 of this thread.
- Saffron BS Members' Month Loyalty Saver entry corrected to show the maximum monthly deposit is £50 (not £250)
- Stafford Railway BS Regular Saver (Issue 1) changed back to the "accounts available to all UK residents" section and I have retained this comment in the text of my entry: Check their website to see whether the account is open to all UK residents or locals only (they keep changing this rule). Sometimes you will see this: "You must live within one of the following postcodes ST14, ST15, ST16, ST17, ST18, ST19, ST20, ST21 and WS7, WS11, WS12, WS13, WS15."
- Darlington BS Teen Goal Saver and Darlington BS Darly Young Saver removed from page 1 as the new interest rate increase to 3.95% leaves the interest rate too low to qualify for inclusion on the first page of this thread
- Cumberland BS First Home Saver Account (Issue 2) removed from page 1 as the new interest rate increase to 3.6% leaves the interest rate too low to qualify for inclusion on the first page of this thread
- Swansea BS Regular Saver removed from page 1 as the interest rate remains 3.75% and this interest rate is too low to qualify for inclusion on the first page of this thread
- Hanley Economic BS Home Deposit Saver removed from page 1 as the interest rate remains 3.8% and this interest rate is too low to qualify for inclusion on the first page of this thread
- Loughborough BS One Year Fixed Rate Monthly Saver added to page 1 paying 5% fixed on up to £500 per month for 12 months but no withdrawals or early account closure allowed
- Nottingham BS Summer Saver (Issue 2) added to page 1 paying 4.5% variable on up to £500 per month until 31st August 2024, open to all UK residents aged 16 or over but the account has to be opened in branch and no withdrawals or early account closure allowedI will do the next update within the next 2 weeks.

I can find the Notts Summer Saver on the Nottingham website if I look under “All Accounts” although it’s not under “Regular Savers”1
