The Monmouthshire B/Soc' regular saver, if you get it, is going to deliver you £71 in interest at the end of the year. Nice to have but hardly worth getting very excited about is it ?0

That's what being an MSE person is all about.I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.8 -

I've found they don't take up much of my time once open. It's just a case of making one transaction per month then forgetting about it and since I pay into them from the same few accounts, it only takes minutes to pay into them all. I have a spreadsheet with them listed on in order of interest rate, then when an easy access rate comes along that is higher than some of my regular savers, they either get emptied, closed or I cut off their funding.

My cheque for the MonBS Xmas saver, sent to them on Nov 24, has been cashed today. I am still waiting for the passbook which they say they posted on the 9th. It’s like the 1970s all over again, just my bones are older now0
