I just swapped my existing Saffron RS for their Issue 9 RS - it took less than a minute once they had answered the phone, and the wait for that was quite acceptable, too. Account details for the SO stay the same, so this is all very easy. Great service!
Just done the same and excess plus interest accrued moved to my nominal account. They answered my call straight away after I pressed 1 a couple of times

I too have just switched my old Saffron saver for the new one via the phone. Wow how good was that! Instant response, no time at all to sort out and what a pleasant lady on the other end of the phone. Big thank you Saffron.

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

Another accolade for Saffron. Last night I logged on, sent a secure message to open a new RS9 @1.75%, close the old RS8 /RSA @1.5%, and deposit £500 from proceeds of RS8/RSA in the new RS9 and send the remaining balance to my nominated account. Voila! Money in my "hub" account this morning and new account funded with £500.
As its the same account number, all I now have to do is extend the old SO so that it ends 1/2/23.

I didn't qualify for the regular saver but managed to transfer my 1.75% small saver to their new 2% small saver.

Does anyone know whether it is possible to open a Saffron small saver with the first payment in to it made by transferring up to £50 from one of their easy access savings accounts rather than funding it from an external account, please?

You can certainly do this with their Regular Saver 9, and they don't state otherwise in their Small Saver "how to manage account", so I'd be pretty certain you can.
• I think the first prize draw for the YBS Make Me A Saver/E-saver account took place on the 3rd oc this month.

No winnings for me, I wonder what the chances are..

I think I'll use help to save 50pounds deposit's for a Nationwide Reg saver. 2.5% aer.
After 12 months, then potentially open 1.35% 3 yr Bond.

Almost April, help to save will close, amazing 4 years.

thanks

Just received my letter from Lloyds ref RS. Have to go into bank to get savings as I no longer have an account after switching. Easiest way is to go in with passport and they'll transfer it for me to my account elsewhere.
