Sorry, no great excitement here: its terms do not qualify for SS2's list - only 1.00% variable, max £250 pm, one year tenor.
But personally, I'm going for it because it's the Dudley's first ever online account: I believe I'll now be able to view my passbook account balances with them, and I'd like to encourage their online initiative.
Thanks for bringing this up on this thread, even tho it doesn't fit into 1st page (imo it should)

Has it ever happen that RS get interest rate reduce while already open????

Most of the time, bank/BS just reissued the next one with lower interest rate

Loads of my (non Dudley) variable RS have had rate changes in the past.

Far too many to list on here but if you go back page by page on this thread you'll get example after example.

I hold scores of them. But won't clutter up this thread with reposts of what's already here.

But for instance Nottingham BS reduced the rate on six I held late last year.

If you go back far enough you'll also get examples where institutions have also raised their rates mid term too!

EDIT:  It took me only a few minutes to register for the new online service, apply for the RS, open the RS, and fund it by debit card.
Can you confirm whether or not you can now view all of your Dudley accounts, in particular their Branch / Postal based versions of Regular Savers if you have one??

    You can.

I applied last night thanks to JR48.

It asks whether you're an existing saver.

If you are you're directed to register for online banking.

    This takes five mins.

Then you can see you're existing branch accounts.

And then you can apply for the new account whilst logged in.

Ideal thanks, worth opening just for that.

We have just opened a 2 new Dudley RS`s by post. I cannot see anything that prevents us opening 2 more online Dudley RS`s - they are listed as different accounts. I also see that maximum balance of the online RS is £3250 which means 13 payments of £250 would be allowed if you fund your first payment before the end of this month.

The postal version says can't hold another RS product with them so might be worth making sure postal ones are fully opened before applying for online version.

    Coventry BS 2.5% > 1.85% last year.

The replacement 1.55% variable is still currently going though, as is the latest 1.30% variable

Thanks for the tip re: online access for Dudley BS. Wasn't aware they'd gone down this route. As long as they already have a mobile number this is the easiest ever. Couple of minutes it took.
