  • It was intended as a compliment in multiple ways
    I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
    The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
    I listen all night for your step on the stair.
  • Might be of use to some: Principality have an online version of their "Thank You" regular saver

    You must be employed directly by the NHS and reside in one of the following postcode areas: LL, SY, LD, SA, CF, NP, HR and CH 1 to 8 to open this account.

    Principality Thank You Saver

    So, according to the website, you can save up to £20,000, but only at the maximum rate of £250pm, a 12-month maximum of £3,000 then really, in return for just over £2pm interest.

    Does not sound a great return (to me), however, it is one of the best rates on the market at the moment at 1.65% variable, and a nice touch of recognition to NHS staff in those qualifying areas.

    A rate that's very, very good on a product that's online, focussed locally and is open ended.

    Sounds fantastic to me!

    For any with the Nationwide Start to Save account, who may have set their SO payments to end in April, they have added two more draws: 21 July and 21 October. (via email)
    As 21 October is the last prize door, is the plan to withdraw everything on 22nd or do we need to wait for the term to end as they are quoting 24 months, which goes to the following May if I'm thinking right.

    They have actually changed the terms from it's initial offering. There was originally no restrictions upon where you reside however it had to be opened in branch. My OH had an appointment booked to open one, then Wales went into lockdown.
    The terms were subsequently changed to allow opening online as well as in branch however, another change was they introduced postcode restrictions which applied to both online and branch openings.
    Despite having the appointment booked when there were no postcode restrictions in place they wouldn't open the account because now there was.

    My plan will be to consider the interest rate they are offering, and the wider market, at the time.
    And of course, to see if the extend the draw into 2022. But as above, you can withdraw as you wish.

    For those who opened a Saffron Regular Saver recently - did you get a separate new login? It mentioned about appearing online, but it isn't in my existing account and I received a temporary password by letter.
