Not a top one but of note for those who live/work near a branch:

Penrith BS have launched a Regular Saver 200 (Issue 2) at 5%(var)
Account can be opened in branch only.
Anyone who has an existing Penrith account *may* get this by sending a secure message through their online banking. I have managed to do that in the past; I'm not trying this one
  • I have the Triple Access Saver at Coventry BS, if I transfer funds from this account to fund the Sunny Day Saver, will that count as a withdrawal from the account or are internal transfers exempt?
  • Just wondering if anyone knows for certain with the current available issue of the Gatehouse Regular Saver (5.3%):

    a) Can this be held if you already have issue 1 (the 7% one)?
    b) Can you close it before the 12 months are up?  I know it says you can't do withdrawals, but doesn't mention about full closure.

    a) Yes, I have both.
    b) Don't know for certain, but I'd imagine you can.  Normally if closure is not allowed this would be specified in key facts.

Agree it will count as a withdrawal.

Was on the phone with them on Monday, I opened the Triple on 29/09/23, the lady reminded me, that on 30/09/24 the withdrawals available count will reset to 3.

So depending on when you opened the Triple, the withdrawal may have less impact.

    “Can I withdraw money?

Withdrawals are not allowed during the 12 month term of your account.

At the end of the 12 month term, your money and profit will be transferred to an Easy Access account.”

“Is this account right for you?

    This account is designed for:

    • Savers who are happy to have NO access to their funds during a 12 month period”
“ This account is not designed for:
    • Savers who want access to their funds within 12 months of opening the account”

    a) No.

According to the Key Product Information downloaded from https://gatehousebank.com/personal/savings/regular-saver/our-regular-saver-account-issue-two:
"only one regular saver account is allowed at any one time."

And section 4.2 of the Regular Saver Account Terms and Conditions states
"You can hold one regular saver account at any one time, and it must be in your sole name only. We will automatically close any additional regular saver accounts that you open and return your funds to your nominated account."

    b) No - unless it's within the 14-day cooling off period or Gatehouse changes the terms to your detriment.

The actual wording of Section 2.1 of the Regular Saver Account Terms and Conditions is
"You may not withdraw funds or close your regular saver account before the end of the relevant deposit period apart from:
    (a) during your fourteen (14) calendar day “cooling off” period, as explained in section 6 of the general terms and conditions;
    (b) as explained in sections 15.2 or 15.3 of the general terms and conditions."
