  • Hi guys. I've got the Chorley BS Loyalty Seasonal RS due to mature on 31 October. I need some cash for the round of pay ins due on 1 October (I have perhaps over extended myself with new openings) and was thinking of breaking into the Chorley one early to withdraw some  cash. Stupidly I haven't retained the account T and Cs to check the withdrawal position and of course it's no longer for sale. Has anyone got a copy they could post?
  • If that is paying 1.85% isn’t it best allowing it to mature and just put in the smallest amount possible into the lower interest paying regular savers

Yes, that is a much better strategy. I suppose the thought of amending all the SOs was discouraging me but it will need to be tackled. Many thanks for sensible suggestion.

I’m still waiting. Sent off Thursday 27th August but envelope return was 2nd class and they were given an extra day off on Tuesday 2nd September so hoping to hear by Friday.
I'm in the same position, what is the process now then (I haven't opened an account with the via post before) - will they send another letter with account details etc or will the account appear within their online banking?

I sent mine back last Friday, knew it wouldn't be processed until.yeterday as they had Monday and Tuesday off so sent money on Tuesday night and added account online Tuesday night also and it showed as pending. Yesterday afternoon account showed as open and funded with the £250 so they did well to turn it around that quick, they do it all manually so luck I suppose where your envelope is sitting.
If you have access to the online banking you need to add account (top right hand corner on homepage) using account number on letter you got when requesting signature sample.

I presume you have not yet received your letter which requires you to sign and send back.  That letter will give your account number but until they receive your signature and you make a deposit the account will not be fully opened.  I have other accounts with them so have online access already .

I'm not even that far. I applied online on 23rd Aug, and have not received anything to send back yet,

Because they process the applications manually probably depends whose in-tray you land in!

I've won my cat-and-mouse game with Monmouthshire! After they had twice returned my opening bank transfer, and deleted the addition of the account to online banking, it was finally third time lucky. The account is now finally showing as funded, as of August 28.
My daily private message from the Monmouthshire was slightly different today - it said because it hasn't been funded, I cannot add it to my online account (as opposed to documents being received).  I therefore have taken this as an implied acknowledgement of receipt of my documents, and as I have funded it today, I should be able to legitimately add it tomorrow!
