Sent PlayStation 4 to Sony for repair - lost in transit

Hello all
New here and not sure where else to post to get advice..
Anyway, my son's ps4 developed a fault a few weeks ago and I got onto Sony and started a repair order. They sent me a label to attach to the box which I did and put the console inside and sent it back to them.
Over a week went by without any news so I called them and they then explained to me that they received my box but the ps4 wasn't inside??? They then asked me for the proof of postage from the post office which I sent them, the weight at the time of posting was 3.8kg and it shows this on the receipt.
Anyway I am at this point very upset about the whole fiasco and they have told me to wait for their other department to give an update. A supervisor then emailed me saying that they've have to declare the console lost in transit. Please wait for our other department to give an update as to what happens next... This has been over a week now and every time I email them they say there isn't any update...
I'm losing my patience now, what are my options? Small claims court? Is there anything else I can do? They supplied me the label so surely the contract lies with them and the courier right?
Any help would be appreciated.

It’s their issue if they paid postage - yes.Sometimes these things take a little longer to investigate with the courier; Small Claims is a very slow process so if speed is your concern I wouldn’t bother.3

Any help would be appreciated. There was an identical thread to this last year, however I can't find it.It took a few weeks for Sony to investigate before sending out a replacement. All you can do is wait.1 -
Thanks for the replies, I'll guess I'll wait a bit longer then.0
