He peed on the stairwell carpet while drunk?
I am sorry to have to say this and this is just my opinion but I hope he does get fined as this is disgusting and will cost money for them to clean as it will probably stink.
He should have apologised and offered to pay for it cleaning in my opinion.

jimbrenz said:A few days ago a friend of mine stayed at a well known hotel chain with his partner it was booked under her name. They momentarily could not remember their room number after coming back in inebriated and he needed the toilet so he walked a few yards and urinated at the very foot of the stairwell as he genuinely thought he was going to have an accident. This was not seen by anybody but there was a CCTV camera right next to him which he noticed after he had done it. He is quite ashamed/embarrassed for doing this and it quite out of character for him. He is now worried he will face some sort of criminal charge or fine from the hotel in his partners name. The staff did not say mention anything to him the following day and he was there most of the day as he was waiting for a train. He says he is torn between contacting the hotel to explain the transgression and offer an apology or just sitting tight and waiting to see what happens. Just interested to know people's thoughts on here.

Thanks for preserving the original post BB of P. The OP (or his 'friend') seems to be suitably ashamed having deleted their post.
