Does that work with private seller? ebay? gumtree? etc. Op has not said where it was purchased.TELLIT01 said:
Are you saying you didn't purchase through Amazon? Wherever you purchased from you have 2 weeks under distance selling regs to reject and return the item. Why not just do that? Alternatively, check what you actually ordered to confirm they sent the item you ordered. Even if they did they would probably be willing to exchange it. Costs could be lower than the loss you will make by reselling it.Lennys_Shinpad said:Thanks for the replies. The Amazon link was just for reference. I didn't appreciate the difference so made a mistake. Will put this one on Ebay and buy a different one.
No it wouldn't apply to private sellers.

Only if it was purchased online and the OP made clear that it was a second-hand purchase, presumably from a private seller somewhere.TELLIT01 said:

It was bought from a business seller and the OP was acting as a consumer &
The contract was completed at a distance.
According to the opening post:I didn't realise when I picked it up that the plug has a strange end to it,so even if it was a business seller, depending on when it was paid for it may well not be a distance contract at all.1
