If they do send you an appointment for a face to face assessment and the date/time isn't suitable for you then you can cancel that and make another appointment. Do be aware though that you can only cancel 1 appointment.

Was advised by DWP today that unless there's a significant change then there's no need for an face to face assessment

OK I dug up my previous pip claim which is dated summer of 2018
It says my claim lasts from then, to summer of 2020. So why am I being assessed before this date?

Because it takes time to carry out a reassessment and the if the assessment is not completed by the time your existing award ends it will still stop which would leave you without any PIP until a new decision is made.

The other reason why it looks like a PIP claim is being reassessed early is that when the Health Care Professional makes a recommendation on when a PIP claim should be reassessed the Decision Maker at the DWP adds on 12 months as per DWP internal guidance on the length of PIP awards. The 12 months is intended for the time needed for the whole reaassessment process (yes, it's far too long and in the past year this seems to have been reduced to 6 months before the PIP end date which effectively gives the PIP recipient an extra 6 months before the reassessment process begins).

    For example:
date of PIP assessment (whether face-to-face or paper assessment): 24 February 2017
HCP recommends a review after 2 years: 24 February 2019
The DM awards PIP for 2 years + an additional 12 months and sets an end date of 24 February 2020
The review form is sent out on 24 February 2019 (as per my comments above this date is now usually pushed back six months so would probably happen around August 2020)

Some awards are reviewed 6 months before the stated end date. In other cases the claimant simply receives a letter 14 weeks before the end date inviting them to reapply (which, in my opinion, is too short).

Thanks guys so that's all my queries and concerns addressed and answered
By me calling up to check they have received my form and to ask about the status of my claim it won't go against me will it? I get severe anxiety hence why I get obsessive about things.
I'm just going to wait it out now as I've done all I csn6
