Will the UK ever increase the amount of lanes our roads have?

If a car is owned by a small group they can agree on in car behaviour and what’s done about it. I like to own a car but it spends a lot of time idle. I gave up owning a car for a while because the costs couldn't justify its limited use. You might want to own a car but for others car sharing could work well.Supersonos said:
What about mud, vomit, scratches to the dash, tears to the upholstery, chocolate stains, rubbish, people's belongings?Norman_Castle said:Car sharing might be more common with self driving cars. I wouldn't lend my car to a stranger as I wouldn't want any damage they may carelessly cause, kerbed wheels, tracking knocked out, thrashing it for fun, general incompetence or indifference, but if the car is self driving these shouldn't happen.
This idea that people won't own cars and will just summon an autonomous car is nonsense. People love to own a car, for the freedom, to have their own space etc.

No offence, but London has the best Public transport system in the UK. Why the need for a Taxi?Life in the slow lane0 -
You could do that now. You don't need automated cars to be able to buy a car with others.Norman_Castle said:

Its not possible for me. Others would get annoyed by the mud, vomit, scratches to the dash, tears to the upholstery, chocolate stains, rubbish and abandoned belongings.Supersonos said:

Just don't buy a car with a group of people who would treat it with such contempt. You want to make sure you know them well enough that they'll look after it.Norman_Castle said:
