I noticed that Aldi are doing a Garden Special Buys event starting on Sunday 1st March. I went instore to check for a leaflet but it wasn’t out yet, but the current leaflet did say the Gardening Special Buy will be online from Sunday 23rd Feb.
This is my first year growing veg from seed so I am looking forward to getting a few bargains!

80 views.... and none of the miserable ess oh dees bothered to thank you!

Unfortunately, my local Aldi is not local, but I have one of their long arm hedge trimmers and it's just done its 5th season, which isn't bad for £60 and what I put it through. :)

My neighbours have a gigantic conifer and about 40% of it is in my garden, so I’ll look out for the hedge trimmer! Thanks

Sounds like you really need a pole saw. I have one of those from Lidl. It's not in the same league as my £500 chain saw, but I can't go far up ladders with that, so it does the job. Again, £50 for reasonable functionality.
  • Picked up the leaflet in store on Saturday. Very excited. I like their multi-packs of veg and salad seed. 6 varieties for 99p. You don't get huge numbers of each seed, though, but that's fine for me as I don't have room for more than a row of broad beans, peas, etc.

We bought a mini greenhouse a couple of years ago, and it's great for starting off seedlings. Very good value. They have them in the catalogue again this year.

  • I'm doing quite well on germinating some chilli and aubergine seeds, but later in the year they also do good value plug plants which are good for those sorts of things which need early heat.

I ordered a mini greenhouse last night, I'm glad to hear a good review. Did you paint/treat yours?

Yes, we treated it with the same wood treatment we used on our fence (not creosote, but something like, from Wilko)

  • I’ll do that then, thanks!
