I'm in again for March, thank you to Elsiepac for helping us all to do this! I think we should come in at £550 for February (2 adults and 2 bottomless pits ie youngsters) but we were away some of that time, we did a lot of eating out which is from another budget.... and it was a short month.... but I'll set a target of £550 again and try to stick to it. I'm learning lots on here and other boards, and the reminders of what to do/not do really help, so I think it's getting easier and, like Foxface I'm finding it quite inspiring to rise to the (grocery) challenge! (at the same time as getting used to being veggie/partly vegan!)
I'm also remembering that I tend to spend a lot in the first week of a month, so I'm trying to curb that...
btw what happened to Mysupermarket? Had an email saying it's closing on 1st March. I'm gutted!
Best wishes for a thrifty March everyone!9 -

First big shop of the month done at £62.70, this did include a nice bottle of rum for DH though which is not std.
Also realised that our target budget was set 2 years ago when twins were 10 and there was no baby so potentially being unrealistic hoping to get back to that. Will see how it goes, I buy most of our meat from Musclefood and stock up once a qtr, maybe I'll try heading towards £450 ex meat order.Currently at £81.74/£480

Mar £5.97/of £100 Month (Annual 27 Dec 19 - 26 Dec 20) £177.36/£1,325 cat food £64.15
Spent out of £100: Jan £77.77 Feb £99.59
Cat Food Jan £71.33, Feb £64.15, Mar £8.41
March spending has begun. £5.97 on food for us. This included 2 lots of reduced price meat (stashed in the freezer now) crackers which were on the list and as i was nearest the cheapest shop for them i figured today would involve a spend anyway, chocolate - it was definitely on the list. i've tried for a healthier week this week which has been hit and miss but i didn't buy a bottle of wine and i've been craving chocolate for about 2 weeks now - lets hope this hits the spot. Biscuits - a treat that wasn't on the list but a fab bargain and a fancy bread.
Also spent £8.41 cat food.
Meal plan hasn't really taken shape, let's see
Today: beans on toast
Saturday - roast dinner with all the trimmings
Sunday - as above
Monday - roast meat turned into a curry - rest of meat frozen for future meals
Tuesday - veggie pasta
Wednesday - fish curry
Thursday - chicken dippers or mushroom risotto
We will see how that goes.

Another £13.50 for me to top up vegan mince, 'meatballs', soy pieces, veg and nuggets that will be used in the meal plan for the next two weeks. Still need to fill the petrol up in my car. Morrie's had a three pack of 200ml passatta for a pound and that's the perfect size for a meal for two so I've got two of those as well, should last me all month. £404.95 leftTight, Scottish Vegan
