Hi ElsiePac, thanks for making the thread
I skipped the February challenge as we were on holiday for almost 3 weeks so were using a different budget and using up stuff out of the fridge before we went. In January my goal was £250 but we came in much lower so I'm going to set this month's goal as £150 for two adults. Friday was my payday so running the month from then until 23rd March.
Spends so far - £22.47 in W'rose (oops - had never been to one properly before!), £21.25 on a R!verford order for next week, and £4.51 in l!dl on stuff to tide us over until the order arrives, so £48.23/£150 so far.

Well that's today's "big shop" done, although truthfully I didn't really need too much
£47.40p spent on general groceries; that's £52.40p total and £27.60p remaining for the week. I'm going to try and keep as many NSD's as possible and any money at the end of the week can carry forward, as some weeks are more expensive than others... As long as I have money left at the end of the month I'm cool with that
I must stay it's really good to be back into the swing of things, budget wise. When I'm trying to be frugal I am way more creative and feel quite inspired. When I'm not I get really bored and end up eating the same stuff all the time.
Today we didn't have much in for breakfast and had run out of bread so I made us some pancakes.
Lunch was some of my homemade soup freezer stash (14 servings remain) and I put the bread machine on first thing with the last of my bread mix, to give us some nice homemade bread to serve.
Dinner will be some homemade vegan "steak" with mash, peas and gravy, and I've attempted some aquafaba meringue to have with a homemade peach fool... it's honestly the best we have eaten in ages and I'm living for it!!!
I have also subscribed to "Who gives a Cráp" loo roll order and also trialling a Smol washing detergent subscription to see how that goes. They are going to stay outside of my grocery budget though.

Hi Elsiepac, thanks again for organising the new thread. Could you put me down for £400 for the month please, realised last month that cutting it to £370 makes it a little tight, although we do have a fair bit in so i'm hopeful it'll be closer to the smaller value.Grocery Challenge 2024

Long time lurker here. I’ve attempted this challenge many times over the years and never managed to do it so I’m here to try again! Really need to reign in the spending and start budgeting better as I know I’m wasting so much money on eating out and takeaways! And we’re expecting another little mouth to feed come June so I thought I better start now!My month will run from 25th Feb - 24th March so please put me down for £250 for the month for Pregnant Me, 2yr old DD and part time OH! This includes all food, cleaning supplies, toiletries we don’t drink alcohol much (not at all for me atm) so that will come out of OH own budget. Thanks for the thread looking forward to trying to complete it this time!12

First spend a day early! as went to Aldi with my mum and she subbed me until payday tomorrow, so I’m going to count it as out of the March budget. £13.25 spent on basics (bread, milk, yoghurts, cucumber, cheese, ham, baked beans, curly fries, pasta, some stir in sauce, biscuits and a bag of sweets for DD oh and a pack of the kiddie flavoured waters they do that she loves) I have a mr T order due tomorrow but I may edit it or even cancel it as I’ll be at OHs for a couple days come weds so might wait until I get back to stock up on fresh stuff!
£236.75 left for the month.. seems doable right now!9
