Gratified to see I'm not the only one buying chocolate that wasn't really on the list, though - makes me feel a bit better.
I was thinking... I find it hard to get to 'know' people online using just names; a few people do have pics and that helps me enormously - if anyone else is the same, maybe more profile pics would bring a greater sense of community? (NB I realise I haven't got one yet, just getting round to it!)
Which is why I can't buy lots of chocolate in one go and I can only put a small amount of chocolate on the list (the additional chocolate from Saturday is gone now, along with the planned chocolate)Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

A quick update. This weeks delivery with MrT's booked coming in at £63.78. We're out for a family meal Saturday night and I've not got anything for next Tuesday yet as 14yo has to feed himself that night as I have college, 10yo is at Scouts and MrM is football coaching so it's usually a frozen pizza or microwave meal for him. It does seem like a very low amount for a weeks worth of shopping for a family of four. No doubt there'll be topping up at the weekend!
This weeks meal plan is:
Wednesday: Spaghetti Bolognese
Thursday: Bubble & squeak with cumberland sausages
Friday: Prawn stir fry
Sat: Meal out with in-laws
Sunday: Egg Fried rice with Chicken
Monday: Chicken casserole (was going to make it this week and didn't get round to it)
Tuesday: microwave meal

Another NSD here. Need to get more of those going on. Meeting our kitchen planner tomorrow, which will be exciting! Had coddle last night, and there's a lunch worth of that left. Tonight is probably beef stew leftovers, and tomorrow is pastini, which I haven't made before.
Need to pick up some minced beef and sour cream tomorrow for Friday chilli, and the usual bread and milk. Need to do a bit of a meal plan for next week though. Nearly out of a lot of the usual staples.8 -
Mar £37.44/of £100 Month (Annual 27 Dec 19 - 26 Dec 20) £177.36/£1,325 cat food £64.15

Cat Food Jan £71.33, Feb £64.15, Mar £37.38
Hello all, kept all receipts and just totted up spends and added to totals for cat food which i don't try and reduce but try and be aware of and food spends. Monthly food spends ends for me on 26th so a bit to go. Had been anxious not totalling up on here for a while due to life being a bit pants at the minute but was mindful of spends each time i shopped. Annoyed i bought a couple of things last week on offer and were on a better offer in a different shop today - 15p difference and it all adds up. But overall spends ok i think - got said items i needed to stock up on and stocked up on tins i use a lot in cooking - tomatoes and various beans. Bought cheese, reduced naan breads, reduced bread, olive oil i was completely out of, veggies, reduced fish and kitchen roll as almost out of last roll so spending ok for that i think. Will hope to get a bit of time soon to post a bit more. Glad of this thread which is helping with my spending.1st May 2025

Last few days spends a quick stop at the local shop on the way home late at weekend £7 (rounded up) for bread,
milk, irn bru and some sweets! Then 17.27 in Aldi yesterday on more bread and milk, cereal, salad bits, fruit, yoghurts, some cans of sprite for me, Toilet roll, water and a few packs of biscuits for dds snack cupboard oh and including a new straw sippy cup for her too that was £2.99 but I’ll still count it in with the shop. This leaves me with a total of 147.13 for the next two weeks, the cupboards and fridge are full so im pretty sure we’re gonna manage it and then I can start to look at shaving bits off!Have a good week everyone11 -
I went in to MtT early this morning to get a few bits for the end of the week, and decided to do the big shop instead. A huge number of staff restocking totally empty shelves on some aisles - no way I'm venturing in there on Saturday afternoon! I did pick up a very small number of extras, but I'd have probably gone back to get those next week anyway (definitely before end of month) so I'm not going to put these down as a panic buy!
So the good news is that apart from a bit of veg, some bread, milk and yoghurt, I'm set for the rest of the month. Turns out I've been very good at eating from the presses and freezer since the start of the year, and there was not much left to make a meal out of...The bad news is that the budget is out the window€107.82 spent.

Just short of £50 at Aldi today, that includes 2 bottles of wine and a half dozen bottles of lager, so not too bad 👍Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Popping in to note down 22p spend on reduced veg added to total.
I haven't written next weeks shopping list yet - i start it when i note i've run out of something. Although Mr Socks has requested bread so will need to venture for that, possibly tomorrow when doing other errands so i may be back again very soon.1st May 2025

MrT's has come in at £63.81 just waiting for the actual shopping to arrive! For some reason I've booked it for 6-7pm 😖 I can only assume my usual 4-5pm slot was unavailable.
Im sitting here by the window fending off questions of "what's for dinner?" by hungry children.
Spag bol for dinner once it arrives, quick & easy.
