Parking ticket - court - please help

I apologise for starting a new thread, but I have read the FAQ, but because I have only just come across this forum, I have already done some of the steps wrong, so I'm unsure of where to go from here.

I got a parking ticket from an NCP car park (issued 35 days after the day of parking).  I parked and paid for 2 hours (with debit card), went back to the car park at the end of the 2 hours to get another ticket as I was still shopping, my debit card got declined, I walked back to my car, got cash, then bought the second ticket with cash, went back to the shops, and then left on time, another 2 hours later. They are saying that I didn't buy the second ticket - I definitely did. I sent them a letter, in reply to the PCN, stating that I would not be paying it as I had bought a ticket. I now realise this was a mistake, as it was an admittance of me being the driver.  I then got more letters that I ignored, debt collector letters that I ignored, then BW Legal letters that I ignored. Then a court letter. I submitted a defence online on the moneyclaim.gov site - again, that was before I found this site so it wasn't worded following the advice given here - I just told the truth about what had happened - that I HAD bought the ticket.

I have asked BW Legal for the list of registration numbers from that day, as they say the second time I paid (in cash) isn't on there. It must be though, as I definitely paid, unless there was something wrong with their machine?! They have not sent this list to me yet.

I've now had a Notice of Proposed Allocation to the Small Claims track, asking me if I want to do the free mediation thing. This is the stage I am currently at. From what I've read, I should decline the offer of mediation, and go to court - is this correct please?

Thanks so much in advance for any advice you can give.
