BT email not "supported" on Apps including its own!

BT email addresses are no longer accessible via its recommended app or other third party apps.
I have spoken with BT, it states:
Are other BT Customers willing to accept this service- seems strange a company which owns a Mobile Network Operator - EE. Is BT/EE is creating obstacles to customers using mobile data - they claim mobile data is a key revenue stream....yet they stop me using it! more bad news for the hard pressed Bt shareholder......
Any suggestions?
I have spoken with BT, it states:
- the app to which BT's website is linked no longer works for BT mail
- the only means of accessing BT email addresses is via their website
- there is no app through which BT email addresses can be accessed
- BT has migrated BT Addresses from Yahoo to their own servers but unable to confirm when this happened or who controls customer data.
- BT acknowledges it has made this change without advising its customers

I guess you can still access it via a web browser...on your phone? I've (almost) got rid of all of my bt emails, having moved to gmail but can still access them on my phone (as can my husband,,,, who is a bit of a dinosaur and refuses to open up another email account..)

I can still access my btinternet email account via POP3 from Mailwasher/Pegasus Mail. And it is still BT Yahoo Mail, I thought the transfer to their own new system had stalled several years ago.

Great to hear not all users are impacted. However, as outlined by BT and in other threads in this forum, lots of customers are denied access to mails other than via the webpages - the practices of 15 years ago!! On the migration, BT advised yesterday it is ongoing.0
