Some clarification on what to do about NEWLYN?

1) when you say you "appealed" "a" CCJ a few months ago, what precisely did you do? Did you fill in form N244? Did you attend a hearing? What? You must know EXACTLY what you did, and can *precisely* tell us. If you dont, I fear that somehow you got a set aside, but didnt turn up to the hearing so they won AGAIN and this is the same effective CCJ. That means youre screwed, btw - you have no options left, if my suspicions are correct.Psychicwin said:I've checked both my ClearScore and Halifax credit reports and they both state I have 0 CCJs.
& I wasn't aware this is a "SET ASIDE" - I'll read more into it.
2) You were told to use Trustonline> this is not free but is an IMMEDIATE search, clearscore and halifax take a month to show up. You do not have a month to get this sorted, IF you have a real CCJ1 -

I just used Trustonline with both addresses and my current address shows as
'N o r e c o r d s f o u n d o n t h e r e g i s t e r ( s ) m a t c h i n g t h e d e t a i l s s e a r c h e d '
My previous address shows as
O n e o r m o r e u n s a t i s f i e d r e c o r d s f o u n d o n t h e r e g i s t e r ( s ) m a t c h i n g t h e d e t a i l s s e a r c h e d
It shows one CCJ under my name but with my first name presented a little incorrectly. Which makes sense why it isn't showing up on my credit checks because of the grammar error on the CCJ.
What is the best thing for me to do in my case?0 -
Same as all the other cases like yours, we have umpteen threads where people tell us they don't have a CCJ but in fact, they do, and clearly, you do:My previous address shows asWhy on earth do people leave debts at old addresses, even scam debts? It was bound to happen. This will now cost you £255 to set it aside (court fee) with no guarantee that the court will order the Claimant to pay the £255 fee back to you.

Please read the NEWBIES thread section on set asides and at least TEN recent set aside threads (search!). No links given. The sticky thread is at the top.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Also worth reading the threads by Henrik777, who posts a lot about set-asides.Coupon-mad said:Please read the NEWBIES thread section on set asides and at least TEN recent set aside threads (search!). No links given. The sticky thread is at the top.0 -
Is it guaranteed the Set Aside will work? Don't want to pay £225 PLUS the £350 :'(0

If it's not showing on your credit file then there's a chance that it won't affect your creditworthiness unless a credit provider digs deeper. As such you could leave it alone and let it expire after 6 years since it was filed. (When was the CCJ filed?)0

What about the letter from Newlyn - Debt Collectors instructed - £358 ?0 -
No-one pays £350 for a scam PCN unless they or the Judge is mad! We can't guarantee it but it's as good as dammit.Psychicwin said:Is it guaranteed the Set Aside will work? Don't want to pay £225 PLUS the £350 :'(
Please could you just spare our time with these basic replies and take time out to read Henrik777's replies by going to his profile, and spending the weekend reading a shedload of set aside thread he has already answered. Yours is no different.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
