O/S Daily Thursday 20 February 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Getting light, cold and breezy start to the day, damp underfoot after rain yesterday.
Dinner last night was scampi, chips and beans/veg for the menfolk, I had baked fish and veg, choc gateau and cream for dessert - trying to use up some of the freezer stocks as some of it has been in there for ages! Not sure what we'll be eating tonight, possibly something and rice but I'll sort that later when I head into town to visit the bank and building society. I have all the normal chores on the "to do " list so will get going with them.
Yesterday work was quite quiet - but now on days' off until Monday.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning and thanks for starting NMLC - hope you enjoy your days off. It's dull and cold here, but dry. I've just been looking at pictures of the floods in other areas, it's terrible. Nanny, hope you are ok, Wales seems badly affected.Had a good day yesterday, I visited an elderly friend first thing. the came home to peel spuds for the shepherd's pie that Dgd had requested for lunch. They left at about 3.30. and we'd had a good chat - Dd is usually dashing here and there, but it's half term so it's more relaxed.Just doing bits of things today, I'll go to the library, and get a bit of shopping, I made a list last night. That's it really, thinking of the poorly people, hope you are feeling a bit better TA. Nels, keep going.Take care folks12

Morning Everyone,
Weather Light , Sunny and dry at present.
My DD is coming up to stay the night as she cannot make for her dads b/day on Sunday. We are opting to have a takeaway instead of going out as they will be tired from working.
Must get a few household chores done before she arrives.
Have a good Thursday all

Morning all
Rain due mid morning and for the rest of the day it seems non stop atm, will get the pup to the park early today.
Ok so you are not to tell me off but my brother was a no show again yesterday thats five days now. he has always been unreliable so I dont know why I thought he had changed, he has not worked for around six months or longer and is basically sponging off my mum, anyway I got all cross yesterday waiting and relying on him that I painted the bathroom myselfI know I should be resting but I feel all uneasy and cant settle if I know it needs finishing, its mainly done know I will do another hour this morning and that will be it, I shall take the pup out and then I promise I will do nothing more for the whole day
Chicken curry and rice for dinner and dd and pup have their training, we have heard nothing from the evil ex but are still expecting to, the police have been in touch offering extra security for the house so I think they know a lot more about him than we do.
Right will have some toast then get on, have good days all xx
Nels hope you are ok xx

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Yet more rain and wind forecast for today and the foreseeable future. My heart goes out to those poor folk already flooded, How much worse can it get.
I have just slept for 8 hours which is an unbelievably long sleep for me but I can't say I feel much better for it. This bug knows how to drag on. I have the girlies here for the usual Thursday Fix and sleepover so I hope I perk up a bit. Yesterday ended up another day of being comatose on the sofa all day, accompanied by Classic FM. I couldn't even be bothered watching rubbish daytime tv.
So what will be will be today ((HUGS)) for all the poorlies and sad in need of them and take care one and all. Stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning, we're off to meet DD2 and the grandpickles for a day out at a Steam Train Museum today which will be lovely, we've taken the precaution of packing an overnight bag in case we find the waters have risen again on the roads round the village and we can't get back later on. We'll either stay with DD1 who lives closer or book into a Premier Inn or some such overnight and hope a dry night's weather (forecast for here tonight) lets the waters drain to the point where we can get home again. Have a good day everyone xxx.
Change of plans as the Grandpickles decided they wanted to come and visit us here instead so they are now en'route, I've raided the shops for necessary snackage and we'll lunch at a local garden centre instead of the Steam Train Museum.

Good morning
Very dull today, and more rain forecast. It must be so worrying for those who are flooded, or who are constantly watching rising river levels. There are lots of flooded fields around here, but no rivers close by, so we feel very lucky.
Things are getting back to what passed for normal here and I'm gradually catching up on jobs that have been neglected. We went to the local outlet mall yesterday and I nearly bought some more craft stuff. Then I reminded myself of all the unfinished projects I have and restrained myself! So a new resolution is to finish something off!
Red Ruby - I had a feeling you would do that painting. Well, you have no excuse not to rest this afternoon !
TA - hope the girls put the spring back in your step
Happy Thursday everyone13 -
Morning. It’s cold but dry here. My brother is not well at all we saw him yesterday and he will have to have more surgery before he comes home the hospital have been brilliant it’s just difficult to get to as it’s quite far away. I am going to ring him today. I am going to go on Friday early so I miss the traffic. I am working this morning after I am hoping to see a friend for a catch up I also need to do a tidy and yet more washing I am sure that basket breeds washing11

It rained again yesterday, but fine just now, am on my way into town to do the shopping, hope the flood has cleared a bit, I need to go to the PO afterwards to take a parcel.
News from DD2 that my ex is not expected to live, he has been ill for the past 3 years. DD1 got him into a care home last year, he is in hospital right now, seems its just a matter of time. He is 79.
No idea about tonights supper, will sort something out later. OH has another dental appointment tomorrow.10 -
Good morning everyone.Dark and wet outside with heavy rain forecasted to sweep across to the east. Just for a change 😂
The deep tissue massage yesterday was very good, not as painful overall though I still felt it in my right shoulder. Certainly it's all eased. I'll go again in about three weeks to keep on top of it.Yesterday afternoon became very interesting - DM decided she wanted to get rid of a load of accumulated stuff from another cupboard. This one contained 14 shoe boxes, all neatly labelled with things like 'electrical goods' ( loads of cut off plugs and old fashioned doublers), 'glue, string, sellotape' and two which were a jumble of bath plugs, hinges and assorted miscellanies.Despite her need to keep most of it all I managed to encourage her down to four boxes. Result! 🎉 Now I need to take away the three bags of flattened boxes, one bag for charity, one bag of electrical bits and pieces and one for the dump. That's the easy part.Today is DM's cleaner day with nothing else much planned.Hugs and stuff to our poorlies. RR take things easy please.Happy Thursday to all.12
