Can I use the seat I have bought for someone who is not travelling?

I was reading something the other day about larger passengers having to buy 2 seats, how does that work compared to the OP's situation?

additional seating for size / musical instruments are generally booked by phone and both seats are linked to one passenger.

Your post makes it sound like every flight you take with EZY you have a non flying passenger! 

Easyjet overbook flights, so I hope your actions have never got someone bumped off the flight.

I always book well in advance at the cheapest prices but quite often my wife is unable to fly because of illness.
I am sorry if this upsets you but you will have to get over it.
