Mobile phone performance and contract

I notice that my mobile phones' performance has deteriorated a long time before my contract expires and my contract includes money to pay off the phones value. I am wondering whether I have any rights in regards to getting compensation, due to my phone not working properly before I've paid it off in full? Any advice would be appreciated.

    No compensation

If it's under manufacturers warranty still then that's your avenue.

Out of warranty , out of luck.

Your contract is purely for the SIM card (although you are technically paying for the phone during the contract )

Performance can be battery wearing out or more likely user junk .
Factory reset and wipe all data .
