    I would wait till you go to uni (if that is your aim) or get a job. Then you can apply on the basis of current income (maintenance loan or salary). A well managed credit card can be a useful backup and a good start on your journey through adult financial life. A badly managed one will do you no favours so make sure you fully understand how they work before you apply for one.

  • A credit card is not what you need - just get your parents to put money into your bank account so you can use your debit card.
