I feel ripped off using apple products.
Another note - I was just in a Carphone Warehouse and finally got to have a hold of the iPhone 11. It is SO much bigger than the SE. DOn't know how my poor little hands are going to get used to these big phones. The guy in there recommended the iPhone 11 over the Pro or Max, but they didn't have the XS only the XR. He said his number one pick was the Huawei P30 Pro or Huawei Mate 30 Pro, as well as the Samsung S20, S20 Plus and the S20 Ultra. None of which are out yet. He had the S20 there though and I had a play with it. It's even bigger than the iPhone 11 - like an iPad mini! The Huawei option has now obviously been thrown in the mix. Will have to start researching, but any experience with those?
  • My wife and I both had the SE for years, she upgraded to Iphone 8 then recently I went to Iphone 11.
The 8 is a bigger and better version than the SE, same as 11 on the 8.
You seem to get use to the size, although find i need 2 hands sometimes to operate the 11, whereas with the SE I could open use close far easier.
  • I'd be wary of Huawei with the political Shanagans.
Check out reviews of Google pixels, they are meant to have top notch cameras and you'll be getting pure Andrpid which would give you the best version however not sure if they have expandable storage.
For a slim phone the Samsung S8 or S9 would be your best bet and ofcourse a lot cheaper.

Thanks bob99999 - how are you liking the iPhone 11. I feel that's where I am slowly heading...
  • The XS is better than the 11 in many ways. It is smaller in the hand, has a superior screen being OLED, has a telephoto lens and a much more palatable price.
You're right though, the 11 pro will be better but as this is mse it really isnt worth the extra 400 quid over the XS.
The standard XR and iphone 11 are lacking in the above features which makes the XS such good value for iphone.
I know what you mean about samsung, I was the same but I got sick of the ever increasing price rises and restrictions of Apple so decided just to go with android.
Bagged myself an S8 plus for £215 which spec for spec is better than an iphone 11 and on a par with XS with the only caveat being no telephoto lens but the camera really is superb. I knew it would take me a while to get used to it but I was determined to make it work for the sake of saving a lot of money in the future. And it has taken a few weeks to work out how to set it up to my liking but I have done now and I love it. The iphone in comparison seems quite boring and inferior now.
Also Samsung's bloatware is far less intrusive now than it used to be.
Also its nice to be able to stick an sd card in and listen to my old music which apple dont seem to let you sync to iTunes anymore.
Honestly there are so many restrictions using apple when you think about it, its its ridiculous.
I’m thinking of moving to the Android side, much as I’d love an 11 pro and I too only upgrade every 5 or 6 years, the cost is ridiculous. Where did you bag an S8 plus for £215?!?!
  • CEX. If you get one locked to a network they are a fair bit cheaper.
  • Why buy a 3 year old phone for £215 when you can buy a new phone for £150.00

    For the logo/badge/branding innit.
  • Old agetraveller, I would have thought people on here are too savy for that con.
  • The difference is the addition of the telephoto camera on the iPhone 11 Pros. So while the iPhone 11 can go from 0.5x ultra wide to 1x wide, the iPhone 11 Pros go from 0.5x to 2x telephoto, for a total of 4x optical zoom. Nonetheless, both camera tiers have very similar feature.
