Afternoon all! Washing was done yesterday for OHs mam but my tumble drier decided to have a funny five minutes and stop working, then start, then stop, so I emptied the water, no difference, took out some clothing even though it was nowhere near the limit, no difference, took out the heat exchanger, rinsed that out, lots and lots and lots of fluff, so hopefully that has fixed the intermittent problem. If it hasn't, I'm going to kick it.Made a beef stew [ in my defence, it was really cold yesterday and the beef was cheap in Lidl...] and had that with herby dumplngs last night. Enough left for tonight as well so no cooking needed today....I think I might spring slowly into action today with a walk up to the back bedroom and see what I can see there..It's got all the stuff that we have no storage for, so tens of carrier bags of my books, his suitcases [about 4, he keeps his old clothes, towels etc in them, and he has yet to sort out his clothes so I will place them prominently on the landing for him to get the hint] , my portable little tools in two large toolboxes, my paintings, all our motorbike gear, and boxes of things for getting out in a remade house and the four enormous velvet curtains I haven't got round to dyeing yet.I'm sure I can find some stuff to declutter up there.Gers, falling masonry? errr....that doesn't sound good. TA, cuddle up, hot toddy up, watch sparkle play ..how's she liking the super-structure? Nelski, extra protein in your mash is good for you? I wear a lot of baja hoodies and you can get them from amazon if that's any good..or the crossover apron things, like this.
I can make you one if you like, but it might be week or so....
Happycas, have a biscuit yourself while you wait...:) Nanny, I don't think my grey matter has churned in while...You could always do an evening course in car maintenance? I quite fancy a pottery one, will have to look and see if that's available anywhere.Righty ho, off to work [ha!] I go...Hey all reading along, I hope you are better, no worse, and are sufficiently lubricated against various domestic distaters...Trembly Tuesday....

Afternoon all. POPPY nice to "see" you again, don't be a stranger as most of us remember your posts and keep wondering how you are going on. ROBLOU you tag along all you want, it's always nice to "meet" a new friend on here. TAFF Sparkle isn't making as much use of her super structure as I had hoped! How ungrateful is she after the tussle I had erecting the blooming thing!! It gets used mostly as a stepping stone to reach the window bottom as it saves her leaping up from the floor! GERS I hope your peaceful day lives up to promise. REDRUBY you deserve a big star for lying face down all that time. I had an MRI scan last year but at least I was flat on my back. And it was a joke when they asked what music I wanted playing! The scanner was so loud I couldn't hear a thing!
I ventured into town after all this morning. More out of necessity really as my meds run out tomorrow and I needed to collect my new supplies from B**ts. If I hadn't gone today I would have had to go tomorrow, so as broad as long really! I think just getting out and having a breath of fresh air perked me up a bit. Nonetheless, it's still going to be a feet up afternoon with my book and I will think about tackling neglected jobs tomorrow!
Enjoy the rest of the day if you can folks and hope the poorlies are bearing up xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Back from hospital physio - and been signed off!
I just have to keep doing the exercises and, if not walking properly after another 10 weeks, I can go back if needed. I did a little light shopping on the way back. Outside it's very dark and rainy.
My cleaner sent me photos of a wet patch on a wall in my spare bedroom, it adjoins the old barn and the weather there has been extra horrendous. I've contacted someone to do some pointing / repairing and asked the cleaner to turn on the dehumidifer, it'll run until the tank is full. After reporting the fallen masonry on the roof of the building opposite Building Control very quickkly contacted the Factor who arranged for it all to be moved. Within a couple of hours it was gone, thank goodness. Just imagine if the huge chunks had fallen on a passing pedestrian. Now I'm going to have a wee siesta!12 -
taff I don't need a car maintenance course as Mr Fix It is an engineer ( got out of that one
) What I do need is one on speaking English and not the gibberish I've been spouting lately ! I tried to say undertaker last week but went all around the houses, the cemetery man, the man who buries you and who walks in front when you're dead etc. Turned into some sort of game of Articulate
I have done courses in dressmaking and hairdressing years ago and I still use both today.
Gers good news about the signing off. Sorry about the wet patch, it must be stressful not being home to supervise.TA I'm glad the fresh air did you a bit of good. Put your feet up now, those jobs can wait, they'll still be there tomorrow or whenever you feel up to it.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
This is going to sound weird but I have exactly the same problem when I'm talking to people. Some words just will not come at all and trying to find something to descrie them is a bit of a trial. Or I'll forget something I've literally said sixty seconds before, or I have't said something to someone I swore I have said....Bleedin' nightmare!Gers, hope the dehumdifieir does the job! TA, what a shame! blummin cats!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Hope all those who are struggling got all the tlc they needed. Have a good evening and a good night's sleep.

Evening all,
Very late tonight, have been sorting clothes to take with us tomorrow.....we are off to West Cork to chicken sit while DS1, DDIL and DGD2 head off to Malta for a week......looking forward to lots of lovely fresh free range eggs!
Very damp here today, no rain but not a pleasant day and very cold. The person who was to come to look at the roof didn't arrive so am going to put him off until we come back, I suppose it is not a very good time to think of stripping a roof.
Hugs and best wishes to all, especially those who are feeling under the weather, stay warm and safe.
