O/S Daily Tuesday 18 February 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Dark, but drying up underfoot, weather is supposed to be a mixture of sun, cloud and rain today - we'll see.
DH up and getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS1 and DS2 still in their pits, enjoying another lie-in.
Dinner last night was pie, chips/jacket potato, peas, gravy for the menfolk, I had jacket potato and salad. Tonight will be the LO pork braised in gravy, with LO mash, roasties, yorkshires, veg and gravy.
Yesterday work was very quiet to start with then became steady - then in the last couple of hours went a bit mad and we had a difficult case that is likely to re-appear today - we'll see. It's my early finish day today so will get home at a reasonable time.
Keep safe and well x

Hello there
Up early ready to go to hospital for OH to have gallstones removed from bile duct. It's done by endoscopy so hopefully will be back home shortly afterwards.
It does seem to have been a tough year so far for so many people here. I do hope things start to improve for everyone very soon
Happy Tuesday - had to think what day it is. They all seem to involve appointments the moment. Even weekends!15 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. What a surprise, more rain is forecast for today but at least the wind has been reduced to a "gentle breeze".
My feeling sorry for myself mood got worse as the day progressed yesterday. By tea time, despite the heating being on and wrapped in my heated throw, I could not get warm. I took myself off to bed only to wake up an hour later in a hot sweat! Bah! Anyway this morning my temp appears back to normal and I am reduced to just nose blowing and coughing! No girlies to look after until Thursday so I can be as lazy as I want in peace!
No Tuesday meet up either as my friend is down south staying with her DS for a few days. I might just get the bus into town anyway and see if a bit of fresh air blows the bugs away..
The usual sachet of soup (lentil & bacon today) is out defrosting for my lunch, along with a bagel. Smoked haddock defrosting for my tea as I have a longing for something "tasty". I shall have that with a poached egg on top and some butternut squash roasties.
Have a good day folks, and apologies for feeling sorry for myself when some of you are much worse. Thinking especially of REDRUBY and NELSKI and ((HUGS)) for everyone else in need of them. Take care and stay safe xx.
.
ps Hope all goes well for MR HAPPYCAS too."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"17 -
Good morning everyone.Yesterday turned out a tad chaotic for a while and involved falling masonry, dry rot works in the flat next door, DM's visitors etc. I'll be glad of a quiet'ish day today. I've got a hospital physio appointment for my hip, happily she's not a terrorist, just firm! My walking is almost back to normal, a little wobble persists though it's so much better.TA - just go with the flow!CAMELOT - hope you're feeling better today. And the same to all our poorlies. Now I wish you all a happy Tuesday.16

Good morning ,it's fine and dry here.Yesterday was the same but cold and windy, probably today will be the same.Sorry to hear you're down with a bug TA, hope it doesn't last too long.I had a good time catching up with my friend yesterday, it was great to see her. Today I'm going to Tai Chi, but I don't know if we'll have Dgs this morning, he has been quite poorly with a heavy cold and temperature, so i don't know what's happening. It's half term here, so I don't know what they are up to today. I didn't get to txt DD yesterday and she didn't txt me, that's unusual for us.Thinking or the sad and poorly, particularly Nelski and RR, and Mr HappycasTake care folks.17

Morning
TA don't feel bad... you have been through a lot yourself and its rotten having a miserable cold. I prescribe total couch rest and some mindless tv. Good vibes for Mr Happycas today
Plans today are to clean the kitchen which will take up most of the day. I'm pushing myself to use crutches all the time time now which is tiring but defo better for my progress. Really need a bag that goes over my body and is big enough to carry some essentials all the bags I have dont have long enough handles need to keep looking today
Successes yesterday were getting dishwasher back in action...I hated washing up all the time and it never cleared pots as well as the DW.... oh and peeling some spuds .....yeah!! a few nicks from the peeler but hey ho what's a few bits of skin in your mash!! So sausage mash and onion gravy for dinner last night. Tonight I have one of my chicken pasties from the freezer withe the rest of the mash and some beans
Nothing much else happening my days are very small now

Morning all Dolly walked and fed weather looks ok today I am off to Bluewater with mother as I have been putting it off but need to get her a bag for the wedding not helped by the fact she is colour blind she says we will be there all day but as she can't walk far i did point out that i doubted we would be there past lunchtime

Morning. It’s cold out but dry. I am working today. Yesterday I had a shock I had a phone call from the hospital my brother has had a heart attack. We went down to see him. He is ok. They are keeping him under observation not sure if they will send him home or transfer him to our local hospital, but they have put an estimate of leaving on Thursday. I can only ring today to see how he is I am at work most of the day and then we have to take DD to the doctors as she is not herself

Well done on the peeling Nelski, each small success is a step towards recovery.
TA, I'd stay in the warm if I were you.
We had a lovely day yesterday. Esben's teeth had obviously settled down and he was very happy and smiley. We had a great time while the 'rents were at yoga. Laura has chosen a nursery for him from September and has registered him for 3 days a week which left her feeling a bit sad, even though it's several months away.
Steve is off to golf this morning and I want to clean the downstairs properlyand maybe get on with some sewing.17 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here for now but more rain due later, its nice and blowy though so will hang some washing for a while.
Thanks again for the good wishes for yesterday, it wasn't the most pleasant experience I have ever been throughin fact it was horrible, I didn't mind being in the tube so much but it was the fact I couldnt get out that really bothered me !! I had worked out that if I counted to 600 three times that would be 1/2 hr so thats what I did, I had to have something to keep my mind amused it did seem to be the longest 1/2 hr ever though, My bach aches this morning due to laying on my front not moving for /2 hr but its done now
and Im hoping I dont have to have another, results next Friday so just a waiting game again now.
Onto today I will put a wash on after this and I am going to give the lounge a good clean through its a bit of a mess what with us being out a lot yesterday and it unsettles me !
Dinner tonight will be summer in winter chicken with cous cous and I will do some roasted veg in the cous cous.
Camelot how are you feeling ? xx
TA hope you feel better soon xx
I hope Mr Cas gets on ok today x
Bozwood hope your brother makes a full recovery x
Nels my friend you are doing amazingly well ! keep on and on with the exercises, I want to be sat somewhere with you once we are both well having a very large glass of wine ! much love xx
Have good days all xx
