Morning all, hope you don't mind if I tag along. Long time lurker, sometime poster but not for a long time now. SUN is shining here today although it is blinking cold...lovely. A week today I was made redundant so am pulling up my big girl pants and getting on with neglected jobs. Over the next two days the kitchen is getting a spring clean whether it likes it or not! Treat yourselves with care all those who need it.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh14

Morning All
Still wet out but at least the wind has died down. Washing will go on the rack once I've had a shower.
I went to the Drs yesterday and have a chest and ear infection, anti-Bs are being taken so should feel better soon. Stayed home after the appt and will stay off for a few days to make sure I'm better. Shouldn't moan, there are folk here far worse than me.
Sorry you too have the lurgy TA, keep warm and feel better soon.
Yesterday doesn't sound like a great experience RR but glad it's over for you.
Small steps Nelski, you're doing amazingly well.
Right, off to the shower and then to watch some mindless TV (I secretly quite enjoy it for a while!). Take care. XX16 -
Bright sun again this morning. We did have some rain late yesterday but nothing like the stair rods on Sunday.
Foot lady here this morning, cue OH squealing, he hates having his feet done, but it has to be done.
Load of whites in the washer, will be going in the dryer, I need to get out and sort out the clothes line sometime soon. Apart from the foot lady, nothing going on.
I had a surprise yesterday, I had written to the council asking for permission to put a spur from the gas into the kitchen so I can get a duel fuel cooker. Chap rang from the council and said they would do it for me!!! It must be part of the upgrading programme they are working on. The same people who put in the heating will do the work. All I need to do now is to sort out whether we need a power point as well. I suppose a full gas cooker would overcome that.
Supper tonight is quiche and jacket spuds, possibly cheese cake for dessert, or I might make a raspberry jelly.14 -
Hello to everyone, I used to be a regular poster but then had a diagnosis of inoperable breast cancer followed by a severe reaction to treatment and multiple pulmonary embolli. I decided to stop that treatment and go on hormone blocking treatment, so far OK and I am able to enjoy life a little more. Have been reading the thread regularly, best wishes to all14

Morning all. Glorious bright but chilly day. One load on line, another in. Cake in oven for friends coming later.
sorry to see so many under the weather, some literally affected by weather too.
keep warm and safe all.Carolbee14 -
Morning all, welcome to new posters and Poppy, it is good to *see* you.
Red Ruby I would have found it so difficult to lie on my front for such a long time, must have been so uncomfortable but at least it is done.
Happycas best wishes for your husband.
Nelski you are doing well, I bought my friend a hooded top with a big pouch on the front because she wanted something to put lots of bits and pieces in while doing jobs and it ended up being so useful that I got her another and I wonder if that might work for you.
TA poor you and everyone else suffering with the ills, I loathe February, it is a dismal time of year and I'm all snuffly too though not really unwell, just a bit off hooks.
I have stuff to do and very little inclination to do it.
We had bubble and squeak yesterday but I wasn't very hungry so the squirrels have had my leftovers, I thought the greedy pigeons and magpies would eat it and the squirrels beat them to it. I had a garden full of birds a few minutes ago, eating birdseed and suet balls but a large tabby cat has scared them away. I am not sure whose cat it is but it visits from time to time, sadly not a friendly cat, he won't come for a stroke.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back16 -
Morning, sunny here too but only between showers! mind it's cheering to see sunshine even if only fleetingly isn't it?
We had planned a trip out today but due to the flooding not so very far away in Herefordshire drivers are diverting past the village on a B road to get round it and last time that happened it took some 4 hours to get the 10 miles into the city so we're sitting tight here and doing some little odd jobs that need doing. Hopefully it will stay dry for long enough this afternoon to allow us to go for a walk without getting too wet and stretch our legs. There is more stormy weather forecast for a couple of days time too so I'm more grateful to live in a place where I can get most of what I need on foot from the house than I can express and if it's like this for a long period of time until spring arrives well, it will be tedious but doable and I can go raid the local library for books so as not to be too bored.
Stay dry if you can xxx.

Morning all, it's raining again. Very bad news for the flooded hereabouts, they don't need any more rain, there's enough still coming down off the mountains. My heart goes out to them. Doing the clear up yesterday around our van, has made me realise that I need some wellies ready for next winter.Last night I was the third wheel in a game of Fortnite with Mr Fix It and DGS, we didn't do badly either as we came 6th, 4th and 2nd out of 50 trios. I enjoyed the game but my back was aching afterwards from the stress
Keeps the old grey matter churning over though and I need that badly ! Even Mr Fix It mentioned that I am sometimes getting my words mixed up
I still have one more wash to do today, then I will spend most of the time reading my new book, which is another page turner, or some TV catch up. I'll bring in the recycling later when the box has been emptied and I'll try to dodge the rain.Right the DW has finished so I must go and empty it.Take care all, keep safe and dry. Sending healing vibes to the poorlies and good luck wishes to those in, or going to hospital.nan xx

Back again
Although the patient leaflet said relatives can stay until the procedure, it turns out I can't! So I'm back home waiting for news!
