The Austin Champ could wade up to something like 6 feet.
My old man bought one after he drove one on his national service in Germany and we used to dunk it regularly.
You'd drive it stood up on the hand throttle.

I remember it was a really nice bit of kit, Rolls Royce B40 engine, slick all synco gearbox, integrated diff/axle/transfer box and all water sealed (for the obvious), but it was pretty needy to keep running, used to eat driveshafts for breakfast.
