Corona Virus - Travel Insurance

The whole package including flights and rail travel between cities has been purchased from the travel company. Ryan Air have now suspended flights until after my daughter's return date so I guess this is now academic, I believe the travel company has to provide a satisfactory alternative holiday or refund the booked holiday.patricia1066 said:
Has your daughter purchased a hotel and flight package from the travel company? If so then they have a responsibility to provide a suitable alternative so she doesn't find herself in quarantine for the holiday.frankiesays1953 said:My daughter has booked for an Italian multi location holiday departing 22nd March, 2 days in Venice, 2 days in Florence and two days in Rome with all accommodation included. As things stand at the moment its only Rome she'll be able to visit and that may change by 22nd March and even if she went she may have to self quarantine for 14 days on return. She failed to buy holiday insurance so has contacted the travel company for advice, they have said that they cannot refund the holiday because the flights (Ryanair) have not been cancelled. This doesn't seem right as she can't possible take the holiday she has purchased other than the last two days. Does she have any recourse?
If she purchased flight direct from Ryanair then she will have to wait and see if they cancel, to receive a refund or alternative flight. FCO advice (not to travel) is not binding on travel providers, and if they allow a refund that is discretionary.0
