Junior Miss "pageant" - anyone know anything?

Hi, my daughter has been "shortlisted" as a "possible finalist" for this competition, has anyone ever heard of it? Is it legit? Is it a scam? What actually is it, sounds like some club???

If they ask you for money it's a scam.

Depends, did you actually enter her into the competition?

if not, obvious scam.

Presumably you entered your daughter into a pageant. If not, then she obviously can't be a 'possible finalist' (which sounds dodgy in itself). If you did enter her into a pageant, the time to check if it is a scam was beforehand.

I believe some paegeants you just enter your details online and upload some pics and then you get short listed as a finalist that way. Then on the next round it depends on how many people vote for you as to whether you're through to the next bit. It's only towards the end that you physically compete against others in person. Someone my daughter knows was a finalist in Miss Teen Great Britain (or similar) last year and that's how daughter told me it worked. No idea if you have to pay any money out or at what point.
