Vanguard one-off contributions

In a Vanguard account is there any minimum on off contributions you make after the initial £500 and am I right in assuming that the additional money would just be automatically invested in the funds I had chosen?

Their website isn't very clear on this point but https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5905555/vanguard-minimum-addition suggests that to all intents and purposes there isn't.

No, you need to decide what to buy with the money once you've added it to the account.

Just tried on my account (with vanguard investor) and seems happy with a £10 purchase, asking for payment details. Didn't complete the purchase admittedly, not made of that kind of money!
  • You can add as much or as little as you like as and when once your account is open. You do have to choose which funds to invest in but it's very straightforward.

I'm confused. You are talking about investing, however, state that you cannot afford a tenner??
Or did you leave a 'k' off the '£10' in your purchase? That I would understand.

Oh I've heard of that... Best avoided by the sound of it if the reports are to be believed!
  • Wiseonesomeofthetome, it appears obvious the small payment entry was a test for acceptance. Regards
