    Or if that's too expensive, make sure the wind's going that way when you burn the remains. Leylandii are incredibly smelly when burnt.

    Someone on another forum said it's against the law to give the stuff back without getting their permission!  Cant find anything on the internet but just wondered if anyone knows if this is true?

    No. That's if you decide to trim it while it's standing there, completely healthy. You must offer the trimmings to their owner, but as the owner didn't do the trimming they don't have to accept them.
    This is a different scenario, where the b***** things have broken and fallen onto your land. You are entitled to give them back as you did nothing to cause them to be detached from their stems in the first place.
