Hi,
We are just renovating our new house and need a new combi boiler that will fit in a cupboard.
Does anyone recommend any please? Not sure which one we should be buying as never had one before. (we have had a glow worm flexicom 30cx recommended at a cost off £705 inc vat)
Any advice really appreciated,
Thanks,
Sally

Good evening: My OH has installed several Flexicoms...good value for money product if installed and commissioned according to manufacturer's instructions i.e. a boiler is only as good as its installation.

Good evening: Labour costs will be affected by your location in the UK, if your CORGI follows best practice (see more here http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/uploads/documents/housingbuildings/ce30.pdf ) your requirements i.e. number of rads, TRVS, your controls preference, flue and condensate locations etc. Best advise...get at least 3 quotes in. There are bargain basement boilers out there but the cost of the boiler will be significantly less than labour and other material costs. If you want a boiler which will fit in a kitchen cupboard then the Flexicom is a popular, value for money option.

HI SALLY, BY A WORCESTER COMBI 24i OR 28i BOILER, THEY ARE GENERALLY RECOMMENDED AS VERY GOOD, AND I HAVE HAD ONE FOR YEARS, WITH LOW MAINTENANCE BILLS, DON'T BUY A CONDENSING BOILER BUY A STANDARD COMBI, CONDENSERS HAVE A PROBLEM OF FREEZING UP IN COLD WEATHER, (GO TO THE WORCESTER SITE) SEE HOW THE MD, TELLS YOU HOW TO FIT MAKESHIFT PIPES TO GET OVER THE PROBLEM, AND THIS IS NOT GUARANTEED TO WORK, AND COSTS A FORTUNE IN ENGINEERS BILLS, AS IT IS ELLEGAL FOR ANYONE TO WORK ON A GAS BOILER WITHOUT A GAS CERTIFICATE, AND CONDENSERS ARE MORE COMPLICATED, SO COST MORE TO BUY, AND MAINTAIN, AND ALL FOR A GREATER EFFICIENCY OF ABOUT 8%, ITS NOT WORTH IT, (I SUGGEST) BUY THE BEST STANDARD COMBI YOU CAN AFFORD, AND THE BEST WAY TO SAVE MONEY IN A SUSTAINED AND MOST ECONOMICAL WAY, IS, MAKE SURE YOUR LOFT IS INSULATED WITH AT LEAST 200mm OF INSULATION BLANKET, IF YOU HAVE 200mm, ADD another 100MM THIS WILL REDUCE HEAT LOSS DRAMATICALLY, BY UP TO 50% DEPENDING ON THICKNESSES, THIS IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO YOUR GAS AND ELECTRICITY BILL, IT COSTS ZERO TO MAINTAIN, AND LASTS FOREVER, MAKE SURE ALL YOUR LIGHT BULBS ARE THE ELECTRONIC TYPE, THESE TWO THINGS ALONE, MAKE THE IDEA OF SAVING 8% ON A COMPLICATED EXPENSIVE TO MAINTAIN, ALWAYS FREEZING UP, MONEY COW FOR ENGINEERS, CONDENSER BOILER, IMPLAUSABLE, HOPE THIS HELPS, STEVE,Hi,

As Sally asked for advice in 2007, she might have bought a boiler by now;)
Anyway, the only boilers you can buy these days in England are condensing boilers. These can be either combi or system boilers(i.e. heat a hot water tank)0
