Mis-Sold Sky Protect - can I get a refund

I took out Sky TV with Sky Q boxes back in April 2018 and soon after was approached by Sky Protect giving me the hard sell on their policy which I took out in May 2018.
As part of the original Protect policy I could add 2 additional pieces of equipment which were a TV and an iPad (which incidentally were already covered under my home insurance).
During the life of the policy I've not made any claims against it.
At the time I was unaware and not made aware by Sky Protect (or Sky) my Sky Q equipment was already covered by Sky as it was on loan from them.
This fact was only brought to my attention last month when I renewed my Sky contract and the advisor went through all the T&Cs with me on the phone.
I contacted Sky Protect immediately to cancel my policy and asked for a refund of premiums paid since May 2018.
I have since received a letter from their Financial & Operational Support Dept. declining my refund request. Their reason being I had additional cover for Sky Q services.
Can anyone explain what that means?
What is my next step?
Thanks in advance.

It means it provided you with additional cover over what you had.
Next step is to continue as you are, or if you feel you need further protection, to source a suitable product.1 -
Thanks, I gathered that was what they were insinuating.
But it turns out my Sky Q services subscription already covered my equipment and I wouldn't have needed additional accident or theft cover as that was in my home insurance.
My point being Sky Protect (who are part of D&G) did not make this clear when selling me the policy.0 -
But not all home insurance gives the same sort of cover .It also depends upon what cover you asked for on home insurance /No way Sky would know every subscribers home insurance details /0
