Switching broadband - account holder

When switching broadband supplier using gainer led, does the account need to be setup in the same name as the previous account. The account is currently in my partner's name and I'd like to put it in my name when we do the switch, but not sure if you can or not.

No it does not. Last time I switched the account holder was changed at the time with no problems.
