  • Hi MysteryRegular. I am glad you got yourself sorted but it seems to me that it may be a good idea to plan for the next emergency. Not sure if you are doing the usual things like surveys etc but I add about £20 to £30 a month doing this in the evenings. It does add up. I try to take mine in Ppal cash as I pay off my mortgage with it. You can hide it there, i.e. out of sight out of mind until a time you need to put your hands on it. Having even £100 in the 'bank' would have helped a bit I should think.
I am doing the make £2020 in 2020 at the moment but you can aim for any some. I was sick for 8 months a few years ago and the relief of not having to worry about money was the best feeling.
Interesting, not heard of this.  Do you have links to the sites where people do this

Just have a browse further down this area of the forum, there are plenty of threads about surveys, and all sorts of other ways of generating income.

Have you had professional help or treatment for your mental health issues.
Mind and other charities may be able to help you,

Are you in a union, they may be able to give you some money from a hardship fund.
