Some good ideas, thank you all
Feel like such a waste of space, despite working full time, I am not covered for emergencies at my age
It's very common now that people don't have savings to fall back on. It's why food bank demand has soared. When an emergency happens, people can't cope. But it's not their fault or yours that you don't have savings.

Anyway, you could ask your boss for an advance, or approach a family member for help. You've suggested that there's maybe reasons why this won't work for you, but it's difficult to tell what advice might work for you as I don't know your situation. The more you share about your situation, the easier to offer advice.

So you could try discussing things with CAB. They might help you find ways to stretch your income so you could borrow and pay back. Getting an appointment within a week is tricky though.
  • @sea_shell do you have any ideas? Or just here to continually dig for irrelevant information?

Its not irrelevant if it can help you. Telling people they are digging for information is going to make other people less likely to want to help. Talk to your local credit union to see what they can do. Sell at a boot fair. If you need to have a clear out do a garage sale. If you have a trade or skills,  advertise them.
  • Don't worry I have sorted it
Thanks for the help though all

I was going to suggest contacting local temp agencies as they sometimes have last minute bar shifts etc to cover and will pay on a weekly basis so faster payment.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Hi MysteryRegular. I am glad you got yourself sorted but it seems to me that it may be a good idea to plan for the next emergency. Not sure if you are doing the usual things like surveys etc but I add about £20 to £30 a month doing this in the evenings. It does add up. I try to take mine in Ppal cash as I pay off my mortgage with it. You can hide it there, i.e. out of sight out of mind until a time you need to put your hands on it. Having even £100 in the 'bank' would have helped a bit I should think.
I am doing the make £2020 in 2020 at the moment but you can aim for any some. I was sick for 8 months a few years ago and the relief of not having to worry about money was the best feeling.

Might be helpful to post how you've sorted it if it could benefit other people in similar situations.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

you can't just pull £600 out of thin air ...if i was in this situation and had absolutely nothing it would take me at least 2 weeks maybe 3 to pull this together and i actually have systems up and running already to generate liquid cash
OP has clearly  borrowed the money in some way shape or form

    Sure of course.
It turned out that I didn't need to find the money. The insurance overturned their decision after I started an official complaint.
I have another thread that bores pple with more details lol
