Switching provider notice period

Options
Hi, Just wondering when using the gainer led switching process how it works in terms of giving notice to the old provider? According to my contract I need to give 14 days notice to switch (I'm out of the fixed term). Do I need to ring my current provider to give notice? Or will the switching process take care of giving my current provider the required notice?

Pick a new provider and sign up with them.
You don't speak to your existing supplier at all.  You may want to though to see if they can give you a better deal than the one you've found, but beyond that...

Thanks. So do I just ensure if I get the choice of a start date I choose one at least 14 days in the future and the new provider will give notice to my current provider?
