Shell Broadband - Free upgrade??

I've just taken a phonecall from Shell Broadband on 03300945801
I was initially suspicious as male asked to confirm security questions (name address and email only)
He stated I had been selected to receive a completely free upgrade, doubling my speed and was part of a new rollout.
I am currently on the super fast fibre package with speeds estimated at Between 57.0 Mbps to 76.0 Mbps. I got it on the MSE deal for 27.99 a month and £75 cash back.
He informed me that an engineer would come out and that a new router and interface would be installed. He said theres absolutely no extra cost to me. Shell cover engineer fee also and that my contract term and payment remains exactly the same.
I'm booked in for 2 weeks time.
Has anyone else had this call? He said an email will follow which I'm still waiting on. Everything seems to check out so far.

I would be suspicious. Why would they fund a new router plus engineer visit plus a speed upgrade for free. Good business sense suggests they would offer this as an alternative at extra cost. Try contacting them to ask for clarification.

What is this new speed ??Doubled suggests the new rollout of high speed 150 meg + FTTP.

Phoned and confirmed its legitimate. It's part of a roll out of new g plan fibre technology in conjunction with BT Openreach. Not available to every home.
