I sent Moorcraft a prove it letter about a month ago, and it dropped off my Equifax report today. Any idea what happened? Possibly the debt has been sold?0 -
Has it moved to “closed accounts” and does it still show a balance?0

Sometimes things happen which do not fall into any of the usual catagories, and without any explanation from either the creditor, or the CRA.Occasionally, if an account is in dispute, the CRA will hide the details (temporarily) from view, so you won`t see it when you log on.Another reason could be the creditor has deemed the debt uncollectable, and wiped the whole thing, should not normally happen, but does.Or it could be any one of 50 other reasons, without an explanation, its only possible to speculate on why, i had an account vanish under similar circumstances about 10 years ago, just vanished from the credit file, it was a credit card, about £2500 on it, never received another statement, or letter of any kind, never been chased for it, or asked for payment, no record of it exists anywhere, online account suspended permananetly. It did eventually go into my IVA, but they never took the money from that either, very weird.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I suppose I will just wait and see what happens, is it possible that it got sold to a different debt collector and in May it will be reported under their organisation name as a collection item?0 -

Yes, anything is possible, until you find out otherwise, its a case of wait and see.

Most likely senario is that Moorcroft have returned the account to the original creditor, and they are sittng on it pending sale or collection by another DCA.Not much is happening at present due to the covid-19 situation.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
