Finest Dental

My wife booked implant work with Finest Dental Birmingham to the tune of £9000,paying a deposit of £800 on her credit card & the rest financed by Hitachi Capital.
Finest Dental gave a initial date of 22 November for initial work but cancelled the day before saying the dentist at the Birmingham branch had broken her wrist.
After more cancelled appointments we find out that the parent company has gone bust, all dental locations are shut & no correspondence either by phone or email unanswered.
Where does she go from here?
Can she make a section 75 claim being as the deposit was paid on the credit card.
Does she continue with the repayments to Hitachi?
I'm sure there are countless more people across the country in the same boat as my wife.
Any help gratefully welcomed.

I think she can claim the deposit from her CC company and then speak to Hitachi about the payments. DO NOT cancel payments to Hitachi until you've worked out what's going on and what Hitachi are doing about it.1

One of the latest reviews :: Went to Finest Dental for an 'Invisalign' Consultation in December 2019 and the Treatment Coordinator (TC)/ Sales Woman gave me a treatment estimate for 'Secret Smiles' and was told they are basically the same thing!! The TC told me Invisalign had production/ supply chain issues but I suspect Invisalign cut them off as they weren't paying their laboratory bills??Anyway smelt a rat, so I said I will get back to them....A quick research on line came up with 2 names as Directors of Finest Dental; a Dr Sati Simon Riahi (GDC number:- 71270) and a Mr Stephen Anthony Banks. The company was trading under the name B&A Group, but as of 30th January 2020, ( wrong date* ) they changed their name to TCDC Holdings LTD. Go figure!! Looks like Dr Riahi is registered with the GDC but has a whole load of restrictions placed on him due to patients' complaints...Maybe someone should contact BBC Watchdog to get to the bottom of this!!!" ......................................................0

I suspect your wife can make a section 75 claim against Hitachi Capital. That might be an easier path to take because that's where most of the debt is.
Whoever she makes a section 75 claim against may choose to fulfil the contract rather than give a refund.0 -
Many thanks for the replies.
Yes the finance was arranged through the practice.
If she makes a section 75 claim against her credit card company will she only get the initial deposit back?
I'm not sure on how these things work.

Credit card co will do non receipt on the deposit. As the finance was arranged with a credit co who will cover you.Life in the slow lane0

Hitachi have been quite good about this. They have froze any future payments for two months till they can ascertain that Finest Dental have gone into administration & will then refund all payments so far made.
It appears there are quite a few more who are embroiled in this & hopefully they get the same outcome.
If Dr Sati Simon Riahi & Mr Stephen Anthony Banks are allowed by the GDC to carry on practising then they should hang there heads in shame.

Hi,
What would you say I could do if I am half way through my treatment? I also took out finance but by Chrysalis finance at the Birmingham Branch. I am half way through my treatment and have no idea where to go from here. Again like your wife and i presume many others I have been trying to contact the company and cannot get through to anyone. I believe it would be much easier to get refunded for everything you've paid for if you haven't yet started treatment but what about us people who have had half our treatment but are now suffering midway and are unable to complete our treatment? What do you think we are entitled in regards to the finance we are paying?0 -
