Diverted flight taxi fare refund

Hello I have question about my diverted flight 
My wife and I was flying with veuling vy1241 from alicante to Cardiff on the 16.01.20 due to depart at 10.40 that morning we had a transfer booked for 7am
We got up in plenty of time for the taxi arrive i noticed my phone showed a message from beniconnect the taxi firm saying they would pick us up at 8.30
I immediately phoned them they informed me airport was closed due to the fire this started alarm bells I checked all my emails and texts for an update from veuling there was nothing at all it was now about 7.30 I phoned veuling the customer service no said not open till 9am my flight was at 10.40
At that time more guests came and informed me that they had been rerouted they found out about the fire on Facebook last night that is when I checked my flight and I had been rerouted to Valencia airport flight was the same time still no information from veuling 
I phoned the beniconnect and asked if there was a transfer to Valencia the informed me not 
What now my wife said let's get a taxi no information from veuling on option I booked a taxi from my hotel with hope of catching the flight at a cost of €190.81
I have contacted veuling they said

Thank you for contacting Vueling.

We are contacting you in reference to booking MEY4PG,
flight VY1241 on 16/01/2020.

First of all, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience we may have caused you.

After analyzing your case we inform you that according to the information registered in our databases your flight was affected by circumstances beyond the company’s control.

We regret to inform you that, in accordance with EC Regulation 261/2004, you are not entitled to compensation.

Some factors -such as adverse weather conditions, strikes, diversions, bird strikes, runway closures, etc.- are completely beyond the company’s control.

In consequence, we regret to inform you that, according to the Community Passenger Protection Regulations, your case does not correspond any type of economic compensation.

We remain at your disposal for any other doubts, suggestions or requests you may have. Our apologies again for the inconveniences caused.

Have I got any right to claim back the taxi fair ?????

    What did you say when you contacted them?  They have replied to a request for compensation and your post indicates you only wanted your out of pocket expenses so clarification is needed.
    You should continue to post in the Other European Airlines thread if Vueling doesn't have one of its own.

    How much would the taxi cost to your original airport? you will have to deduct this from the 190 euros that you paid and try and get this from your insurance company if you get no satisfaction from the airline who appear to be stating that as the fire was beyond their control you are not due compensation from them
