Happycas, what a shock for you, I'm glad you're alrightish.
TA, I posted last night to say we had been turned back by flooded roads twice, I think that must have been somewhere near you. We ended up coming over the Cow and Calf.
Elctrician is here already, just waiting for the locksmith and builder.12 -
Morning all. It's a bit calmer here today. We got away with just a fence panel down. DD 's little block of flats lost some tiles which crashed down on the back decking of the two bottom flats causing much consternation!
No plans as yet for today. TA hope Sparkle likes her new present Snoozer glad you got to Yorkshire safely. Tru a new chicken!
Have a good day folks. Hugs and spoons all round.

Morning all from a bitterly cold sunny and windy seaside in Kent. Just done daily Pilates and now having a cuppa and perusing the boards. Tea sorted for tonight and no real plans for the day. Although the sun does show up the dust ....Carolbee11

The wind has dropped a bit but not enough for me to consider driving into Melton, lots of trees on the way.
We escaped the power cuts although I did decided to do a one pot lunch instead of supper. We had pork casserole with a tin of peas and carrots chucked in (from my store cupboard) and I cubed some potatoes. OH had a yogurt. I made corned beef sarnies and put them in the fridge for supper and we had raspberry trifle. So a change round day 'just in case'.
Sun is out, very little warmth in it though.
Saw the awful pictures of flooding yesterday, some people have only just got over the last flood and they are flooded again......so awful for them.
Have taken smoked haddock out for tonight.11 -
Morning all,.
DS's GF still here, working from 'home' as her flight to London was cancelled yesterday afternoon, she is now flying this afternoon. We are promised snow later, I am hoping that it won't happen, or if it does it is only a shower!
Still windy and misty here, hopefully it will improve, our roof has taken a beating, so a new roof is needed.
Need to make a couple of phone calls this morning to help sort roof and change OH's warfarin clinic appointment.
Keep safe and warm everybody.

SNOOZER you were about 11 miles from me at the Cow and Calf! In the long and distance past I used to go to the weekly disco at the Cow and Calf and, money no object, came home by taxi many a time after missing the last bus!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10

Morning all, I have missed you lot
Haven't been on here for nearly two years because I have had a lot of ill health and six operations plus waiting for another three and my knee replacement has not gone well a year on and it is still swollen and painful my consultant wants me to go to Stanmore orthopedic hospital now but as he said the knee was almost destroyed when he did the op and the bones were shattered I was in theatre for four hours instead of the normal 2 hours because there was so much damage
Since I have been away DS has got his degree in computer programming ...........Proud Mum alert Lol.
We have paid off our mortgage early and have been using the money saved to do up the house.
Apart from that it has been pretty mundane to be honest.
Glad to back xx
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Hello all, a bit late for me but we have been out and about this morning.Weather wise we have had sun, rain, wind , sleet and hailstones, sometimes all at once, we're only missing snow and fog ! Shhh! shouldn't tempt fate I suppose. This morning I went into town to the bank and had a bit of a scare. The man stood behind me obviously had MH issues as he was talking to himself about killing people if they wouldn't let him carry on with his training and he wasn't going to let them dose him up with meds anymore ! That's the first time I've ever really been afraid of someone and boy was I glad to get out of there !Then I met a couple of Dad's neighbours and had a catch up about their 2 boys. I taught them many years ago, so that was nice but made me feel sooooo old, as they are both well into their 20's.On the way home we called in Dad's to deliver an emergency roast dinner and his meds and spent some time chatting over a coffee. We are home now and this afternoon I want to sort out the spare bedroom and put that back to normal. I also need to strip the chicken carcass and later put the bins out.I still can't get my head around the smilie situation as I can't decipher which is which (?). Probably my eyesight is not as good as I thought...... or my brain
( I think that's the sad one )
Happycas I hope you are ok. Falling down shakes you up a bit.Butterfly B well done to your DS.I notice RedRuby and Gers are missing, along with Nelski. Hope all the missing MIA's are okRight better get on and do something. Take care all. Hugs to those who are in need and healing vibes to all the poorlies.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10
