Good morning everyone
, I do miss the waving smilie.
I have been up since 2am due to the wild weather we are having. All I could hear was bins being tipped over and hailstones rattling against the windows. I am definitely glad I don't have to go anywhere today that's for sure.
I weighed myself this morning and somehow I have lost 4lb this week. I am so pleased but feel it isn't deserved as I haven't exactly been eating healthily apart from the last couple of days. Oh well, I shall take it and run as they say. I am going to make cottage pie for dinner tonight with loads of vegetables and I have a great big salad for lunch every day so will definitely be getting my 5 a day.
I am on the home stretch now of knitting a scarf, just another 40 rows to go and then it will be done. I decided that I actually really miss knitting toys so I have ordered another load of patterns and yarn. Steve is going to kill me as I gave away all my knitting stuff when I came out of hospital but at the time I didn't get any pleasure out of it as I just felt really overwhelmed. This time I am not ordering loads of wool, just enough to make the dolls one at a time.
Right, I am off to make a cup of tea and snaffle some breakfast. I fancy beans on toast so that is what I am going to have. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to and I hope the stormy weather will quieten down. Take care xx

Morning
I've been bouncing between exhausted-I-need-to-sleep-for-a-month to tons-of-energy-I-could conquer-the-world. Hormones, I think.
I've managed to do a couple of useful things. I've cut up and hemmed a couple of old towels to make cleaning cloths for the chicken shed, repotted the houseplants and sorted through the garden pots.
We have foxes around here, it's not unusual to spot one in the middle of night. But the other day, we were out at 11am and one trotted across the road in front of us! Scamp didn't know what to make of it so just stood and watched, I was fascinated til I realised it had gone into a garden on the corner, which is three gardens away from my house, where my chickens were ambling about. I turned round to go back home (Scamp was confused because we'd only just left the house, lol), pointless really because an olympic sprinter wouldn't have got there quicker than the fox, lol. I hung around in the back garden for a while, there was no sign of him so we headed out on our walk again. I've been keeping an eye out ever since, I'm sure the neighbours must think I'm spying on them, lol.
My friend's dad was driving behind a lorry full of chckens and one escaped. He pulled over and managed to catch her with a landing net (he fishes and always has his kit in his van). He got home and realised he had no idea what to do with a chicken - he hadn't thought past rescuing her, lol. My friend rang me and I said I'd take her so she drove straight to her dad's and picked her up. I was trying to think of a name and decided to incorporate the name of the road she was found on – that wasn't going to work, she told me they were on the A38
Friend named her Abbie and after a few disagreements – mostly from my bossy little bantam Peanut - she's settling in really well.
Wild wind yesterday, I can't believe everything round here is still standing. We went to a local-ish pub to meet friends for a carvery. They were up from Cornwall for the weekend, we only see them once or twice a year so there was no way I was cancelling, though I must admit if it was people we see all the time I wouldn't have gone out. The only damage I saw was a bent branch on the tree up the road and a couple of broken road signs near the motorway. We've been lucky, I think.
Oh this is going to take some getting used to - my smilies are landing in the wrong place and the font is tiny. Ggggrrr.

Morning everyone
dumpling - thanks for starting us off x
Dark and still windy here, but not too cold.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and ok.
Lunch yesterday was chicken in sauce with mixed veg rice - decided to get it cooking a bit earlier than normal due to the blustery wind and we get power cuts when it's windy, I'd just got everything cooking and the power went off - I have an electric fan oven but a gas hob - so I got the food cooking on the hob took a little while but we got there, we then went to MIL's as they had power to watch the rugby - when we got home the power was back on. Dinner tonight will be something reasonably quick,. Work will be either manic or dead - we'll see.
Keep safe and well x

WEIGHTLOSS SINCE JUNE 2009 - 5 ST 2LB16 -
Morning folks and thanks DUMPLING. As if the torrential rain and gales haven't been bad enough, we now have evidence of overnight snow! Not a lot fortunately and it is forecast to turn back to rain and sleet. We have floods all over the immediate area, mostly at lower levels and the wind is still howling away. How I hate winter.
I am housebound today as I am expecting delivery at some point of Sparkle's "Deluxe plush tree house/climbing frame/scratching posts" I hope it lives up to it's fancy name and I can assemble it without problem! She will be watching the proceedings with great interest as she is a very nosy cat!
I did very little over the weekend as I was too busy weather watching and looking at pics of all the local flooding. There's been an awful lot of damage round about. DGD is due home from France today and I worry about the coach trip back up here in this wind. They had booked the tunnel which was fortunate as lots of ferries were cancelled. Looking at all the photos school posted on Twitter they have had a brilliant time but I expect there will be a lot of tired children getting dropped off!
So must get on with a few jobs today and shortly venture into the cold garage to get today's eats from the freezer. I think there is at last a bit of space emerging in them but still lots of food to go.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. I hope you are all escaping unscathed from the terrible w/e weather. Take care all xx ps I haven't noticed a post from GERS since the big changeover. I hope it's a logging in problem and there isn't anything else wrong in her life. xx

Good morning everyone, the wind is dying down now but yesterday was quite wild. No real damage for us but I've seen photos of trees down and squashed cars. A friend was meant to spend time with me but we felt that driving was not a great idea, we will do that another day.
I have a work phone conversation later but nothing more than that today. I don't feel very motivated but must do some jobs.
Dumpling well done on the ongoing weight loss.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back14 -

Good morning, it's fine and dry here, but still windy, don't know about the temperature.
TA, yes, I noticed Gers was missing, hope everything is all right for her.
We were in all day yesterday, but I'm going to visit a friend this morning. Dgd won't be coming for her tea after school as usual, because she's going to a friends. I have a few jobs to do and will go to the shops, I have a tiny list.
Hope everyone is all right in this wild and windy weather,
Take care folks

Good morning
Windy here but not stormy, and much brighter.
Decided to fetch some things from the garage yesterday morning. Rushing about in the wind and rain, I somehow slipped on wet ground into a flower bed, over the sleeper at the edge of the bed, and got stuck between the sleeper and the wall. I was like a beetle on its back, but I kept thinking I'd have to get up as no-one knew I was there. Eventually I struggled out somewhat shaken and very muddy. I was very lucky to escape with just a few bruises and a slightly swollen ankle! That should teach me to dash about in the rain.
Back to visit DH today, but the op is forecast for today or tomorrow, so he may be home soon, fingers crossed.
DD should have flown back from Tenerife yesterday but their flight was cancelled. They were taken to a hotel and are now due to fly lunchtime today. Apparently the weather there is lovely, so not too bad I suppose.
Right, off I go to get ready
Happy not too windy Monday everyone11 -

Tea Is shorted for tonight I just need to put a cottage pie in the oven that I made yesterday just cook some veg to go with it. Have a nice day everyone11
