It may seem like an obvious answer, but what does this actually refer to?

I've just joined the forum and prior to starting this thread my profile already shows 4 posts, which seems to be made up of 1 thread and 3 replies.

But I've only posted 2 replies so far on the forum, and this is the first thread I've started.
